Whee, guess who I spotted this week at a studio - Delta! She was working on some tracks for her upcoming third album. I got to hear a track she was working on and was quite impressed, it's piano type songs but it feels much fresher and younger. She was a nice enough person as well.

I liked the last album actually, a lot. I liked the theatrical elements to it..thought it an unique approach.

I'm excited to see what she does next. I've not any doubt in my mind that Delta Goodrem will be around for a long time and will shape up to be one the biggest artists of our time.

So..she better not let me down on that.

I wrote something earlier and it got deleted. All I said was ES was one of my fav Delta songs.

Anyway, I also think Delta will be around for a long time. Her voice has grown so much since the early days of Innocent Eyes and the confidence she has has grown stronger - just hear how she sings Together We Are One compared to her early stuff.

This 3rd album could be the one that puts Delta's name firmly on the UK scene for the right reasons

VERY excited about this, but unfortunately I really can't see her igniting her career in the UK again, the whole Brian debacle as really tarnished her image, like it or not, and she'll always be known as his girlfriend...

Okay so my reply also got deleted.

But yes basically I was just saying how I am extremely excited about this and I am sure it will be her best album yet.
I think she will have learnt from her past albums; so yes I am extremely excited.

Nothing will ever live up to Innocent Eyes (the actual song) that was one of the best songs of that year.

How come her first album did so well but her second did so poorly (in the UK). I thought sob stories boosted sales.

"Electric Storm" was amazing; it was an absolute injustice that it was never picked as a single.

Her second album didn't really get a change to do well; they picked a weak lead single, and basically abandoned it then - they plugged "Almost Here" as a Brian single, which helped his album, but that was it. There were rumours they didn't want to risk releasing anything because of the bad press from the Kerry/Brian/Delta mess.

Hence why the first album sold so well; she was diagnosed the week the album charted in the UK so I guess it helped [of course it was a great album and therefore deserved to do well etc etc].

The second album [as Steve said] wasn't really given a change here unfortunately.

I think the second album was overall of a higher quality, but the first one had the really obvious, stand-out singles. I'd like a mix, please Delta. Thanks.

Completely agree and I think we will get a mix.

The new songs like Never Fades Away and Flawed are brilliant (They're on the Japanese version of Innocent Eyes). They're very striking in a way her previous albums haven't seen before

I loved Mistaken Identity. In saying that, I recently gave it to my cousin so maybe I didn't like it so much after all. Extraordinary Day, The Analyst, Sanctuary and Out Of The Blue stood out for me, all lovely songs. But Out Of The Blue was too sugary to sell the album.

I think Last Night On Earth would have been a good lead song for the Mistaken Identity album or Electric Storm.

Out of the Blue is a lovely track but for me i don't think it was strong enough to say to the world "Look I'm back!"

Australia brought it though...

It took AGES for 'Mistaken Identity' to grow on me, but it ended up being one of my favorite albums of 2004.

I thought 'Almost Here' and 'Mistaken Identity' were excellent singles with great videos, so it might be the case that the general public simply didn't want to buy Delta records (due to lack of publicity? the Brian debacle? who knows).

'Out of the Blue' was pretty weak for a lead single, admittedly, and the 2 best tracks from the album ('Last Night On Earth' and 'Electric Storm') were neglected over tosh like 'A Little Too Late'. I thought 'On My Own' was BRILLIANT so I'm really excited about her return to music.

WHEN it comes to celebrating Christmas, Delta Goodrem remains a child at heart.

Back home with partner Brian McFadden to spend the seasonal holidays with her family, Goodrem will realise a childhood dream to perform at Carols By Candlelight tomorrow night.

The award-winning singer-songwriter was keeping her carol choice a secret yesterday, which was easy as she had lost her voice for most of the week because of a chest cold.

"I am massively into Christmas," she whispered.

"I've never got to do carols in Australia since releasing my albums because I've been away so much. It will be so special to share it with Brian and my family."

The pop couple arrived in Sydney early this week after enjoying an early Christmas holiday with McFadden's family in Ireland.

It was a much happier end to the year after they spent 18 months weathering scathing criticism from the British press for their relationship, which began after the breakdown of McFadden's marriage to British pop star Kerry Katona.

"That has all settled down now – they've found someone else to write about," McFadden said.

The proud boyfriend said Goodrem's much-anticipated third record, to be released in mid-2007, was a "much more adult album".

They excitedly played a track they wrote together called I Believe Again, which has Goodrem adopting more of a Dido sound.

"There's one song on there called Fever, which is a sexy, sexy song," McFadden said.

"And we just wrote a song together – the first in ages – called I Believe Again.

"We've both been working hard on our own albums but making sure our schedules are co-ordinated because it is important for us to spend as much time together as we can.

"If we're not happy at home, we're not going to get much work done," he said.

I'm loving the sound of "Fever" should be fantastic!!!!

I''m "rather" excited at how close the album release is getting:

Know not too many on here give a shit, but thought I''d post. rhe label has also apparently already picked FOUR singles for the new new album. Here''s to hoping she gets far more success than she had for the criminally underrated Mistaken Identity...
