Delta Goodrem - Delta

Re: Delta Goodrem

Agree with the fact that MI is overrated, though she did release the wrong songs off of it. Electric Storm and Last Night On Earth should have been singles.

The UK was only abandoned because of the negative atmosphere surrounding her and Brian's relationship. But the tide has turned, in Delta's favour. No one really likes Kerry any more - last years 100 most annoying pop moments had Kerry in there and someone even said when Brian left Kerry, everyone felt sorry for her. Now, everyone is like "Well done Brian" for bagging a georgeous Aussie babe and getting out of the sham of a marriage. Could you imagine living with Kerry?

Thats why i think its a perfect time for Delta to come back. She's grown up, confident in the way she looks, is loving her hair (as seen in the constant flicking of it in the In This Life video) and has got a brilliiant collection of pop songs on the Delta album. I do think a lot of Delta fans who have slated this album will be eating humble pie and saying how great it is in a couple of years, probably when the 4th album comes out - and everyone will slate that. Like how everyone slated MI when that came out because it wasn't part 2 of Innocent Eyes and now everyone is saying what a wonderful album it is!

"Delta" could do really well here in the UK, depending on when its released, i do think if she released around the same time that "Innocent Eyes" then it would have better success and not get lost in a christmas rush like MI did

Re: Delta Goodrem

I imagine she'll do a tour and then promote it elsewhere. Makes sense so winter of '08 makes sense but I do think that's too far away. I might be bored with the album by then unless she adds some extra tracks.

And she's doing a charity single with Kylie for Olvia Newton John's cancer hospital in Australia.

Thats another thing i can't wait for! Delta has to release the album here soon. Surely the record company have heard of imports. Surely its better to release sooner rather than later

Re: Delta Goodrem

I don't think she'll be massive if she comes back over here. She's got the material but I just don't think the UK want that type of music. For the first two albums, the timing was perfect but that style of music is now only really being done by Take That and they're mainly successful because they're Take That.

Still, You Will Only Break My Heart and In This Life are brilliant.

And the live version of Last Night on Earth is one of a few songs that can make me shed a tear. It's just beautiful.

I love the live version of Last Night On Earth - I think i prefer it to the original!

Re: Delta Goodrem

I've seriouly gotten into the "Delta" album since I bought it a couple of months ago. It is definitely way better than I thought it was. I was a bit disappointed to begin with. While I still can't listen to the hideous "Possessionless" and "Woman", I absolutely ADORE Believe Again, In this Life, You Will Only Break My Heart, Bare Hands (must be a single), I can't break it to my heart (spectacular and very catchy ballad), Brave Face, and the last song whose name I can't remember. All those tracks are worth getting the album for.

Re: Delta Goodrem

I Can't Break It To My Heart is magic!
If Celine had that as her comeback song she'd be huge again...
I mean this as a compliment btw!

The lyrics are just gorgeous! the whole "water glass" thing of course, plus the chorus:

But if i still believe you love me
Maybe i'll survive
So i tell myself you're coming home
Like you've done a million times
And if it's alright
I'll still be loving you
'cause i can't break it to my heart

!!!!!

I'm not normally a sop, but this is great.

Re: Delta Goodrem

I found it hard to get get into, but over the last few days, i've really been getting into Can't Break It To My Heart

Re: Delta Goodrem

It took a while to creep up to me but that 'But if i still believe you love me' line is so catchy

Re: Delta Goodrem

I had no idea that four singles had already been chosen. So, You Will Only Break My Heart and Possessionless are the third and fourth singles. There may be a fifth, so please, Brave Face, I Can't Break It To My Heart or Angels in the Room.

Re: Delta Goodrem

What about Brave Face? I hope if she does promote in the UK/US she picks another single or something. I can see the Brave Face video, it'd be amazing.

Re: Delta Goodrem

I can see this album kinda working in the UK if she does things differently. Everybody in Oz loves her so she doesn't need to worry too much about single choices and what order they go in. She'll need to play it carefully in the UK. She is kinda famous but her style of music isn't that popular/successful anymore.

I'd say:

1. In This Life - Reminiscent of her old style but brought up to date. Plus it's pretty fun and catchy with a good hook.
2. You Will Only Break My Heart - This could do brilliant things everywhere, but the UK especially.
3. Believe Again - I think it could do well but I'm not sure if the UK would appreciate it. If it was remixed slightly it might help.
4. Brave Face - She needs a good ballad and this is probably the best on the album.

Re: Delta Goodrem

"feels like I'm running with my high heels on..."

Is probably the best line on the album and for that reason alone it should be a single.

"Possessionless" is just so BAD compared to the rest of the album. I can not make myself like that song. It's cheesy and obvious...

That is my favorite line, ever. And the reason why it should be released.

Re: Delta Goodrem

Well the Aussie releases are:

1. In This Life
2. Believe Again
3. You Will Only Break My Heart
4. Possessionless
5. ? at the moment

I'm hoping the UK releases will look like

1. In This Life
2. Believe Again
3. You Will Only Break My Heart
4. Brave Face
5. I Can't Break It To My Heart
6. (If there is one) The Guardian

I like Possessionless, but i can't see it working in a UK climate, whereas in Australia its one of the fans favourite songs from the album

I think it should be the same for the UK/US release since its supposed to be released here as well.
