Delta Goodrem

'Believe Again' is good enough to make me a Delta fan forever even if everything she subsequently releases is terrible.

So true. The song was good enough for me to SMS a signed copy of the single.

Delta's been getting a bad wrap in Australia actually. The way she acted while guest judging on Australian Idol seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

I think she shocked alot of people cos she wasn't just the nice judge everyone thought she would be. I found that really refreshing

But it wasn't as though she was overly harsh. She was constructive, fun and effective. I think it would have been far more detrimental had she been sweet as pie.

I don't think it'll have any Cheryl Cole like effect on her media image over in Australia because she's been the nation's sweetheart once before... now she's just trying to revitalise her career and to grow internationally.

It also, well sort of, confirmed some people's beliefs that her whole nice-girl-next-door persona was all an act.

I think her what some people didn't get was that Delta went on that show telling those who wanted to be singers - the harsh reality of what it is. Just because everything may seem rosey in a singer's life doesn't mean it is. Delta was actually helping the contestants instead of blowing false wind up their arse, she actually talked to them as if they had a record deal and putting out music - which is probably what board meetings at Sony are like. I found this all quite refreshing anyway, it makes a change from the pantomime villains that Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh are

Delta has turned into a bit of a pest with all her media endorsements though.
Soy milk, Shampoo, Nintendo, proactive etc.
I have all her cd's but I find her constant product prostitution a tad too much
(She doesn't have a before shot on the proactive commercial either)
Looking forward to her next cd though.
She is one of the most beautiful women ever.

Oooh!! Lucie needs a great comeback single soon. That second album was such a huge disappointment.

I kind of agree. I think i played her 2nd album maybe a handful of times. There's some alright songs on there, but nothing that said 'play me' like "What Your Made Of" and "Breathe In"

Whereas i think alot of Delta's material across her 3 albums has always had something thats begging to be noticed. (Though i always thought the singles from the Mistaken Identity album could have been better. I would have had: Electric Storm, Mistaken Identity, Almost Here, Last Night On Earth, Be Strong) Out of the Blue and A Little Too Late are great tracks and i love them - but i felt they were trying to be Innocent Eyes songs and should have been left as album tracks.

I really enjoy Sinking In, Something About You and Alone from Lucie's second album, but the MySpace demos she has been posting since then have been generally fantastic - Faultline (which has apparently been covered by Katharine McPhee for her new CD), Hurricane, Anymore and When It Comes To Love in particular are very strong. Apparently, the second album did well in the Netherlands and Germany, but it didn't stop her from being dropped.

It was absolute sacrilege that Electric Storm wasn't a single from Mistaken Identity, and I don't understand why SonyBMG tool such a defeatist attitude and cut UK promotion after one single - Almost Here was a hit and helping Brian McFadden's album, as well as raising her profile, so the negativity surely wouldn't have harmed her sales that much!

I don't know why they didn't plan the All Out of Love with Westlife as a single. That recieved alot of interest after they performed it on X Factor and if they had - would have been a stand point and the Delta album would have probably been released here.

We'd better get the 4th album otherwise i will be furious

I agree that it's madness what went on with "Mistaken Identity". The single choices were terrible and then the whole UK campaign was just ridiculous.

It's even crazier that they then didn't push a release for the third album. Nobody knows what went on there and everyone is very mute about it. "Delta" could have done wonders over here. They should have gone for "In This Life" and "Believe Again" before the album and then "Brave Face" and "You Will Only Break My Heart". That third album has so many songs screaming to be UK hits.

Tell me about it! She does still have a strong following here. I know that on Itunes videos don't sell much but the In This Life video was put onto UK itunes randomly (which does make me think the UK was planned), and it got to #12 on the main chart without 1 word of promotion here. The only people that knew about it were the people that go on her forum. And i totally agree with your singles list - and add I Can't Break It To My Heart as the final UK single. Had they done a better video for that one in Australia, I'm sure it would have done alot better

Haha. It truly is the bland leading the bland.

Hahaha x 2 at both of these replies.

She's as overexposed in Australia as I imagine Cheryl Cole is in the UK. We had front pages recently with the shocking news that she got threatened on twitter. Jesus wept.

Also, if you use that music recognition software on Sony Ericsson phones and play Delta Goodrem In This Life, it comes up on an album titled UK Pre-Releases or something. I definitely agree that it was planned but something went wrong - maybe they scrapped it in favour of her going to the US and then just decided it was too late after that didn't pan out fantastically.

I think thats what kind of happened. 2008 was supposed to be the year she released in the UK but then she got the opportunity to release in America and she took it - it was the obvious thing, at the time to do. And she do sort of well over there - pretty much selling what Kylie's X album did over there which for a new artist for America, is quite good.

But again, it was something else they just gave up on. In This Life carved a path for Delta which I think Believe Again needed to break the wall down, but they never followed through so was yet another wasted opportunity.

Agreed. I really liked her first one, even though it wasn't normally the kind of music I would listen to, but the second...no. Just no.

Delta is rubbish. The soundtrack to my personal hell would be that horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE last chorus of Born To Try playing on a constant loop.

Gosh I love me some Delta Goodrem. 'Possessionless' is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Personalitywise she reminds me of a more outgoing Leona Lewis. Can't wait for her next album!

There are some real cunts on this forum.
I'm sure anyone who's had the misfortune of visiting the VV Brown threads will agree with you.

Does anyone know if Lucie intends releasing another album?
