Delta Goodrem

At least my posts in the VV threads are relevant and more than "The bland leading the bland" and shit like that. I actually listen to the music and make an unbiased opinion of it which is more than can be said for certain other people on this forum.

So I suppose your indignation has nothing to do with your connection with Lucie Silvas then?

Oooh!! Lucie needs a great comeback single soon. That second album was such a huge disappointment.

I kind of agree. I think i played her 2nd album maybe a handful of times. There's some alright songs on there, but nothing that said 'play me' like "What Your Made Of" and "Breathe In"

Whereas i think alot of Delta's material across her 3 albums has always had something thats begging to be noticed. (Though i always thought the singles from the Mistaken Identity album could have been better. I would have had: Electric Storm, Mistaken Identity, Almost Here, Last Night On Earth, Be Strong) Out of the Blue and A Little Too Late are great tracks and i love them - but i felt they were trying to be Innocent Eyes songs and should have been left as album tracks.

I really enjoy Sinking In, Something About You and Alone from Lucie's second album, but the MySpace demos she has been posting since then have been generally fantastic - Faultline (which has apparently been covered by Katharine McPhee for her new CD), Hurricane, Anymore and When It Comes To Love in particular are very strong. Apparently, the second album did well in the Netherlands and Germany, but it didn't stop her from being dropped.

It was absolute sacrilege that Electric Storm wasn't a single from Mistaken Identity, and I don't understand why SonyBMG tool such a defeatist attitude and cut UK promotion after one single - Almost Here was a hit and helping Brian McFadden's album, as well as raising her profile, so the negativity surely wouldn't have harmed her sales that much!

I didn't realise Lucie had actually been dropped. That's a bummer.

The Guardian Angel demo is brilliant. Miles better than anything on her second album.

I love Delta and definatly have some interest in Lucie too, they both are immensely talented and have that certain spark. Their music is enjoyable and generally meaningful, thank fuck they're not like Betty Boo.

There are some real cunts on this forum.
I'm sure anyone who's had the misfortune of visiting the VV Brown threads will agree with you.

Does anyone know if Lucie intends releasing another album?

Yes, she is finishing it at the moment - she could probably find distribution/another deal in the Netherlands very, very easily if she was going to do it on her own label in the UK.

I love how people think they actually know about me. I have no connection to Lucie.

When is the 4th album due?

Early next year apparently. If the UK get it remains to be seen as we didn't see the "Delta" album.

Delta's been doing lots of promo in Australia recently, with presenting the Nickelodeon Kids Awards - and dueting with the brothers from Good Charlotte (on youtube somewhere) and also she's doing a one-off christmas show in Australia, singing her hits and christmas songs! I wish we would get this!

Re: Delta Goodrem

I still have no idea why she didn't release her last album in the UK. It's not like Kerry Katona is the nation's sweetheart anymore.

I think she's going to find it hard to get back the success she once had here.

Re: Delta Goodrem

She's left Modest Management as well i think (unless thats untrue) and they take all the X Factor winners so getting a favourable spot on X Factor which I always thought she would, will now be hard

Re: Delta Goodrem

I thought she woyuld've really pushed to get the album out here, but I guess she either wasn't bothered or didn't have the time/support? Who knows.

Re: Delta Goodrem

The way I understood it, in early 2008 she was gonna release it here, but then the chance came to release In This Life and the album in America and she took it. She did spend virtually that year there. It didn't really do that well, but i like to think she has devloped a cult following there now.

I guess at the time, it was too good to ignore. I just hope that if the new album is released here, we'll have In This Life and Believe Again tagged onto it - and they start the campagin here with a new song, then In This Life, then Believe Again and then 3 other singles. Doubtful this will happen

Re: Delta Goodrem

Aha, thanks. That makes sense. It is a shame that two good singles never saw the light of day here, but as you said, they could possibly stick them on a UK edition of a new album.

In related news, Toni Braxton is doing a cover of Woman (from 'Delta') for her new album. If someone already mentioned, I'm truly sorry and should be flogged. Personally, I don't like that song, but I read in the Toni thread that it's a good version. We'll see...

Re: Delta Goodrem

ooh interesting. I like Woman, its ok, and will let it run if it happens to come on my itunes but i wouldn't click on it to want to play it

Re: Delta Goodrem

It always sounded very talent-show/OTT to my cloth ears! I don't hate it, but sometimes it's a bit much.

Re: Delta Goodrem

None available in the UK apart from imports in HMV which are very expensive I'd buy them directly from Australia - the Believe Again Tour and the Visualise tour.
