Demos Sung by One Artist But Recorded by Another

  1. What are the best demos that have been written/recorded by one artist but then actually recorded/released by another?

    For example - Avril Lavigne co-wrote and recorded the demo for 'Breakaway' which was then recorded and released by Kelly Clarkson;

  2. Kelly again, but this time she's the one on the demo. Ended up on One Direction's debut album.

  3. Obvi, and much better than Ellie's version.

    A lot of Ryan Tedder songs were demo'd by Ryan.

    Then there's this… probably sung by Hannah Robinson

  6. Time for a Sia field trip.

  9. Interesting but hate all the auto tune on her vocals. Think I prefer Ellie's version.

  10. Interesting how Beyoncé was able to change the word 'even' to 'ever' on Irreplaceable and claim a writing credit...

    I love that Rich saw sense to keep that middle 8 for 'Get Right'.
  14. I can hear why Usher turned it down, the demo was bubbling under the whole time, they took it to the next level with J Lo!

    Yeah it sounds like a Confessions b-side but everyone was a winner in the end! Usher got his brilliant album and JLo got an amazing song.
  16. Brandy's version of Louboutins is iconic.

    Katy has a bunch of these.

    Given to Miley Cyrus

    Given to Selena Gomez

    Given to Kelly Clarkson

    Most of these are from her unreleased album with Columbia if I remember correctly.
  17. Oh yeah and let's never forget this iconic mess
