Dermot

Is it just me or is he REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. His interview bits seem to be about humiliating the contestants with questions they can't possibly answer in a good way.

He's also made his hatred of Louis abundantly clear and, fair enough, but as host he should be unbiased towards the judges.

Anyone who makes me long for the days of Kate Thornton is bad.

Also: Konnie Huq is possibly the worst choice for Xtra I could even conceive of.

I think he's a terrible presenter. He never seems to get the best out of the contestants, and above all else he's bloody annoying.

But he doesn't hate Louis, he's stated on several occasions that he loved Louis because he's the only one who can take a joke.

Watch how much he points with his non-mic hand at the beginning of every show. He's always wagging his finger about. And twirling.

Can't bear him.

His hatred for Louis is just stupid. I don't think he gives a toss about the show.

Really? Whenever Dermot has made a remark to him, Louis looks like he has a face of thunder and about to cry.

I like Dermot - to be fair to him, last night was quite bonkers - it must have been like hosting the Eurovision. But he will stand up for the contestants - especially later in the series if he feels the judges comments are too harsh.

Konnie - well, it took me a couple of years for her to get her stride on Blue Peter and I do feel she is out of her depth on Xtra Factor. I like her and am willing her to do well

But I would have prefered if Katy Hill made a return to TV presenting and was host of Xtra Factor

Hmm Konnie is a tough one. In the auditions / boot camp / judge's houses she was really bad but I didn't mind her yesterday. She's quite funny and can handle the pressure of having about 30 people all around her.

Exactly He doesn't even pretend to. I've liked Dermot on other thing he's done. But compare Davina presenting BB or Claudia Winkleman presenting the SCD spin-off show, to Dermot on X Factor.

Thats true, he doesn't seem to have the passion for the show like other presenters do. He is slightly detached from it. Maybe thats a good thing - keeps a level head on things, but it can be a bad thing also

I imagine it's because he hates the music that comes out of the show, and all those other Cowell related acts too.

And yes, Konnie has ruined Xtra Factor. I used to love the show, but I never watch it now. She's so bad.

He's never worked on this show. But then I don't think Kate did either.

It really was something last night when you had this amazingly over the top intro VT that got he whole room buzzing and then he walks out with his monotone "I don't want to be here" expression and you think "Oh. What was I so excited about".

This show needs Davina.

Well it could get worse!

According the The Mirror (yes I know) if Dermot goes on to do X Factor USA, then Christine Bleakly - yes the one half of the dopy duo who have plunged breakfast TV viewing figures to a new low - could take over as host.

Don't know about anyone else, but Dermot suddenly looks alot better!

His intro was incredibly brief/flat, he certainly didn't whet the appetite for the 2 and half hour marathan of a show that was to follow. His little salute followed by that obnoxious twirl just make me want to vomit every time he pulls them out (i.e.e EVERY SHOW).

This show would be strangely perfect for Davina, she's extremely personable and can do gurning excitement like no other PLUS there's be no proper interview section for her to awkardly stumble through! I never even considered her before this but it make sense!

I think Davina would be incredibly passionate about the show and the contestants as well. She mothered the girls and boys on Popstars The Rivals and I think she has even said herself that it was the first time in a show she got so emotionally involved.

Remember when Peter Smith turned round and said he couldn't be in the compeition because he was 2 months too old. Davina made it her duty to say what a fantastic young man he was.

I think what stands against her getting a presenting job on that show is the fact she was the presenter on Popstars
