Watched "Noelle" a few days ago and I know it's going to be a Christmas go-to movie in the years to come. I love it so much.

We watched Noelle and Godmothered this week and both were absolute delights. They're both lovely, charming, funny, heartwarming pictures.

Yeah I’m all in on the Soul love. Wall-E is my favourite film of all time, and Soul floored me in the same way. It’s up there in my top 5 after one watch. And it’s just so beautiful.

Soul is absolutely one of my favourite Pixar movies already. It was absolutely stunning with the visuals and had so many layers to it. I do wonder how children will enjoy it though. I'm already thinking about watching it back, well done, Disney.

Just watched Soul again. How do we not nominate voice performances for Awards?

Jamie was exceptional. I am constantly replaying the scene with his mother and getting his suit repaired in my head. His performance really resonates long after the movie has ended.

Probably because the streaming rights are owned by someone right now. I assume it’ll come back once they have the sequel ready.

Unreal film. Weeping wreck by the end. Soundtrack is on repeat. (The soundtrack has two sections - the jazz stuff and the Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross stuff. Both sections are utterly sublime.)

Same, I’m usually a total sap for stuff like this. However, not crying doesn’t take away from the fact that I really loved the film. It was both simple and profound.

To share my thoughts on the message of the film, I’ll put it in spoilers in case someone prefers to go into it blindly:

I echo the sentiments of you all that it is the perfect film for this time. It especially resonated for me as someone who’s been unemployed for most of the pandemic, and losing sight of what my purpose and my spark is.

I love the beauty in the simple message that we aren’t defined by our talents, occupations, etc. and that just being alive, and appreciating the beauty in the experience we share, is our purpose itself.

I loved every moment of Soul. Another shining winner on the Pixar mantel. As mentioned, at a time when I’ve never felt more directionless with both my life and the world as a whole, the message of this film couldn’t have been more fitting. And the way the studio’s animation continues to get better with every film never ceases to amaze me.
