Disney

Disenchanted is amazing! I couldn't believe the quality (particularly considering the last major Disney+ release was the dreadful Pinnochio) of the general presentation. The story was genuinely lovely and just the warm Disney hug I needed. I can't deny that I was enjoying the soundtrack more than I probably should have as well.

I have mixed feelings about Disenchanted, in a lot of ways it’s a good film but it lacked so much of the humour of the first - the humour is fairytale people in the real world and so for me James Marsden carried that in his brief appearance.

I just finished watching Disenchanted and I loved it. I was not expecting so many songs, but this time they made it really a musical . It's not as "magical" as the first one, but it's a great and worthy sequel in my opinion. Amy was fantastic, she played both versions of her character so well, and I always forget what s beautiful voice she has.
I'll probably share more thoughts later, especially about the songs, but Badder (?) was such a great moment

I had to turn Disenchanted off half way through. Disappointed as I really love Enchanted but I just couldn’t cope with it.

I got Crazy Ex-Girlfriend from about half of the Disenchanted songs though I guess that in places was Disney inspired so it makes sense.

Wow indeed! I've been watching sooo many videos on YouTube about the state of the Disney Parks and Bob Chapek and I can't wait to have it all assessed by those vloggers.

Maybe some of Giselle's magic wish remained in the real world?

I really enjoyed Disenchanted. I’m puzzled by those who were disappointed enough to turn it off? The first film had a rom-com vibe to it, whereas there was no way this one could do the same again without giving Giselle and Robert martial problems (which would have been a big nope).

I re watched it yesterday but this time with my Mum, and she loved it too but thought it took a while to get going. Looking back I can see where she came from, up until the wish, it veers a bit into generic "teen angst and her Mother feeling disconnected from her" vibes at times. There was a lot to set up I guess, but a few extra sprinklings of magic would have helped.
