Disney

It sounds like Melissa has used someone fairly well known as inspo for her speaking voice (outside of Pat Carroll). It's almost Thatcherish. Especially when she says "it's what I live for". My brain is 80% loaded in pinpointing it but I can't quite put my finger on it. Or is she just doing Gillian Anderson/Meryl doing Thatcher?

EDIT: Ok, she sounds identical to Myrtle Snow in AHS Coven.

So far I’m liking what I’ve seen and heard of Melissa as Ursula. Apart from the cackle, it seems, perhaps, that she’s bringing a different angle to the character- less bawdy than Pat Carroll and more manipulative and faux-softly spoken. Slightly like Scarlet Johansson as Kaa from Jungle Book but with the inflections of an older person.

Recent problematic firings or not, the guffaw I let out when I read they managed to find a loophole to null any power the DeSatan’s appointed board may have over their district…

And to tie it to Lilbett!!! That racist meatball truly got played by the mouse! Let’s see how many laws he tries to break or create to wrestle it back regardless of standing precedent.

This!

The way Disney literally shat in Desantis mouth!!! I fucking gagged!!

Don’t mess with Disney and their money.

It's been 6 years... this is ridiculous. I don't understand how technology has advanced in that tiny amount of time for a live action version to look even remotely different/updated.
Didn’t Disney have their investors meeting today? Not a coincidence this announcement dropped today. All these live action remakes is to make money which appeases the shareholders…

Yeah, the point of the remakes (other than making money of course) is to offer a new perspective and maybe correct some aspects that were dated or culturally insensitive. What could a remake reinvent in a movie that came out 6 years ago? Why don't they remake some old animated movies that were maybe a little overlooked like The Black Cauldron? I know, money.

he/him/his
This is way too soon . But on the other hand it has been really successful on Disney+ and still is. They are also bringing Moana attractions to the Disney Parks so it makes sense.

Plus the movie probably won‘t be out for 2-3 more years.
