Do you watch YouTubers?

I casually follow Call of Duty e-sports so I got into watching YouTubers through that. I only really watch some of the gameplay videos that some of the pro players upload but lately I've been watching H1Z1 Battle Royale videos.

I also watch some of the vlogs that the CEO of one of the e-sports organisations uploads. He's 36 so he's more relatable to me than these YouTubers in their early 20s.

I've fallen into a bit of a hole, after years of not really getting it. I think the whole 'YouTube" star thing missed me by a few years. I started watching bits of Jeffree Star's channel for...whatever reason... then accidentally found myself watching loads of other shit, almost out of morbid curiosity. Watched some atrocious young man with too much money waffle on about his grindr dates and how essential his 1k lip fillers are for 20 minutes the other night before reassessing my choices.

No, I used to love YouTubers back in the day when it was all new and they weren't getting paid for views. Now it's all extremely samey, boring and a waste of time.

There are plenty of good youtubers and youtube content creators. However, there is PLENTY of car crash youtube.

I know someone who became a Youtuber. They live off Youtube now. What I have heard through the grapevine is that they have made their life very difficult. They may have properly ruined it. They are still generating income and have their loyal (psycho) fans but... they have ruined their life. They have haters who are digging up their murky online past. They have overspent their fortunes instead of saving it. They have stalkers. They have ruined friendships and family life. They have made themselves into anxious mess.

They are heading for disaster. Its really sad.

You're mates with Alex Day?

No.

Well, not unless I'm stuck on a video game* and I can't find a text walkthrough / it doesn't help, and I have to watch a Let's Play.

*usually Nancy Drew

I'm about to get my drag on for Friday so need to watch a tutorial I like the look of. I actually watch a lot of drag tutorials. They're so interesting.
