Doctor Who

A certain portion of the fanbase will never get over the fact we have a black (and queer?) Doctor, the same way they lost their minds when the Doctor was a woman. It's sad really because they let prejudice get in the way of a really rather excellent series of the show.

Also, Russell has confirmed in an interview this week that it was the explosion in The Star Beast that woke up Sutekh. That's good to know, because no matter how many times I watch the episodes I've never really been able to work out if Sutekh has been conscious the whole time or if there was a specific recent event that kicked it off. I know it was speculated that it was around that time due to Susan's first appearance in Wild Blue Yonder, but it's good to finally have the confirmation.
Would've been nice if they had, y'know, put this in the actual show nn

I’ve just got back from Cardiff.

We stumbled across filming for The Battle Between The Earth And The Sea

- no main cast (that we could see)
- The Atradius Insurance building (The Bride, Partners In Crime) has become “The Windsor” - not clear if it was supposed to be a hotel or another business.
- Over the course of 40 minutes 3 UNIT branded vehicles came and went.
- Most of the filming focused on the steps up to the building - a crowd with some police officers.

The Sea Devils basically throw back all the rubbish we've been putting in the seas for decades, leading Britain to be covered in trash. War starts!

Double post but this is exciting!

The official blog post also said it'll be a 90-minute version (not sure how that'll work given how long the serial is). It also said:
In addition, the episode will also feature the Second Doctor's never-before-seen regeneration into the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee), alongside recovered footage not seen since the original broadcast.

Is this the closest we've got to a Christmas special without there being a trailer for it? I understand if maybe they want to keep the details secret, but even Wild Blue Yonder had a trailer and that episode was shrouded in secrecy.

It just feels weird that we're less than a month away now and all we've had is those 2 clips.

I think they're relying on co-starring Nicola as their hook, to be honest. A bit like Series 9 with Maisie from Game Of Thrones.
