I definitely understand and empathize with how frustrating it must be to deliver live vocals (especially while sick) and then be accused of lipsyncing, but I'd also love for her and the newer girls to start pushing back against the idea of "lipsyncing = bad/not a true artist" instead of reinforcing that stereotype. I get it if all a song requires is a guitar and a mic, but I'm genuinely so sick of people online not understanding that pre-recorded vocals are necessary sometimes and can serve a purpose for a highly choreographed performance. It's also something that only ever seems to be levelled at women because the standard of performance for them is so much higher than it is for men.
