I thought Julia Childs was the only really good snatch game to be honest. Doing Jane and Gina in character was fine but it’s what always happens when you do an existing comedy character, they just spend the entire time repeating their famous lines. I just knew she’d crowbar Octoooober in there somewhere. It’s just boring. It’s not showing any imagination or creativity to just parrot existing comedy lines.
Everything just feels so small in the studio, it feels like the judges have virtually got their backs against the set.
I’m watching, but it’s no UK6.

All things considered, as Down Under goes, this season isn’t bad. The queens are probably the best overall bunch they’ve had. Its a shame the judging panel is dry as fuck, hopefully Spankie will fix that. Snatch Game was terrible but it can often be terrible across the board. The set up didn’t help, it looked like it was literally filmed on someone’s doorstep. Splitting such a small cast into two groups did them no favours.
Was that…the best sewing challenge of all Drag Race herstory?
I didn’t love the winning look, but you can’t deny the skill it took to execute.
I’m not sure any of the looks were my all-time favorites, but not a single one was bad. And judging reflected that?

Agreed. I thought it was a pretty good design challenge. Some of the outfits could’ve done with some editing (Brenda, Lucina), but overall the quality was good. I can’t argue with the winner, but it wasn’t my favourite.
The lip sync was good too.
Isis is a nice person, but she’s really kind of boring. Thank God Spankie is on next week to bring some personality to the panel!

They decided they wanted this to be Drag Race Australia and no New Zealander (who still lives there) will win again.
I thought the safe queens were worse than both Lucie and Brenda. So was confused by the oh any other week you'd be in the top comment.

Some 'choice' angles on the camera work this week. The judges saying Vybe had a keyhole back and us never getting to see the back. Whilst Many's dress seemed well executed, the cutouts on her arse were completely uneven and I think the corset stitching was too, but the glimpses we saw of it front on were fleeting.
Nikita should absolutely have one.
However, I still thought it was the best design challenge we've seen on Down Under.

Interesting that they showed the version of Brenda‘s runway where she fluffed the reveal, because when the judges were talking amongst themselves, the clip they showed was of the reveal going completely right. Narratives eh?
There were certainly no bad outfits, they all did well. I preferred Lucina’s lipsync to be honest? I thought Freya was doing a tad tooooo much of the soap opera dramatics which didn’t fit the feel of the song.

I really thought this was an easy win for Nikita, her look was amazing. I kind of hated Mandy's look.
It is better without RuPaul.
Also a pretty good cast this year.
New Zealand being a small country, I knew they would find it hard to find people to compete on the same level after the first two seasons.

The kiwi queens kind of dominated (and won) the first two seasons, not surprised the Aussie queens are more featured now.

It's really not but it's adequate / watchable.
It's...weird without RuPaul. A shot in the arm, but...I'm not convinced it'll cure what ails this franchise.
(They really, really need Courtney to host this. But I'd settle for Spankie...)
