Drag Race España S3 & All Stars

I decided i'm going to watch this season even though I hate reading subtitles because I like to be able to look away and text during boring parts of Drag Race while listening. But I heard it's off to a good start, and also I have been following Pakita on instagram since 2015 and we've chatted a few times and she was a sweetheart (And she's hot, obviously.)

Okay I finished episode one and holy shit... Pretty much all of their entrance looks were really well done. And the talent show was WILD. Drag Race US would never let them do all that.

The whole mirror section had me feeling like *Stacy_Layne_Matthews_ Who_the_fuck_is_Heather_but_with_feather.gif* I assume "pluma" is slang for "femme" or "flamboyant" but don't quote me on that.
Yeah, "tener pluma" ("to have the feather") basically means being flamboyant and easily clockable as gay. Fun fact: we queers in Spain have the word "plumofobia" to refer to the aversion that masc x masc gays have for flamboyant people!

I never watch the show with subtitles for obvious reasons, but I'm always glad I don't every time I learn what you girls have to read dd. These translations are so bad. You can't translate stuff like this in a literal way. Hire me @a3media!

The way no one did Massiel on the runway because they all figured someone was going to do it anyway is still making me scream. Grumpy legend would not be happy about it!
There is some tea flying around that apparently production is giving them "options" to wear on the runway... which would explain why some of them were so ill-fitting (there was no way Chuchi had that dress made for her).

The directing team has changed from the previous seasons and apparently they want the season to be a lot more Telecinco, hence them trying to amp up the tension and drama between the queens. Like, Chanel hating on Macarena from minute 1? Macarena trying to shut Bestiah down? It all feels so... forced. You can almost see the dark hand in the back moving the strings.

This season is going to be a mess.

No idea about production giving them options, but the directing team changing is true.

Let me just say... I wouldn't blame the treatment Macarena is getting from the other queens on that though ddd.

Finally got around to watch episode two and I completely understand why Supremme and co were so disappointed with the queens presentation and performances

Overall a bad week. I really hope this was just a bump in the road and the queens will step it up and we get to see some magic

Drag Chuchi WTF! Everything was awful

Lovely to see Soraya and her excitement

Pakita was unsurprisingly it for me last night. Referencing Carmina Ordóñez washing her feet with beer at El Rocío? Serving a fucking huevo frito look where her hair was the yolk and with a loaf of bread in her hand? ddd. Her regional look was okay for me, so I get Pitita winning, because she definitely had the strongest overall package. I just wish her squid look was not a mask and she incorporated her face with makeup onto the look. But the Molino look though??? She ateeee. I loved how the blades weren't visible until she triggered them, as well as the way they appeared behind her one by one. The silhouette resulting from the whole thing was great.

This was the most enjoyable episode of the season so far, and god knows it was needed. I was told the season picks up after a rocky start, so hopefully it stays this way.

Also… I hope this episode serves as the blueprint going forward runway-wise, because we have been subjected to way too many Diamante Merybrown level demonic shit at this point.

Pitita is a star. I rewatched the first episode and it's clear she gets comedy. I mean, she was portraying sexysexysexy Ana Obregón dressed as a bunny. She can do no wrong next week on snatch game.

The eliminated queen shouldn't have even been in the bottom but somehow it was her time to go.

I can only presume that Kelly Roller is well known in the Spanish drag world for only wearing roller skates? I’m surprised the judges didn’t pull her up on not wearing heels before eliminating her

That was the best episode of the season by a huge mile. Every girl shined one way or another. Some thoughts:

Pakita continues to exhibit legendary behavior. The girls mourning Chanel's exit and then cutting to her confessional like "a tomá por culo la shané, una menooooo." Her not running to greet Supremme because she's going to get sciatica. Refusing to play into the sexual innuendos and forcing the Pit Crew member to bite into her balloon instead, and then heartily complimenting and apologizing to him. Refusing to play a wordy role because she said so and that's the last of it! Serving demonic Sméagol twink from hell in the challenge, and then giving a narrative as usual on the runway, going from breathtaking, Golden Age of Hollywood to Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows tragic beauty. She is the mother I never had, she is the sister everybody would want, etc.

Visa is my boyfriend and I will be taking no questions at this time.

I'm so glad we got another episode where the girls were tackling important conversations in the werkroom, as has been the case on previous seasons. What it means to be read as a woman in society, the lack of real inclusiveness and the takeover of the G in LGBT spaces, the complex emotional world you live in when you grow up with an abusive parent and then have to deal with their death... Amazing.

The acting challenge was the best one of the Spanish franchise by far. I don't really remember if she's been referenced on the show before, but having Maria Edilia back playing underground YouTube legend Estíbaliz Quesada aka Soy Una Pringada was a kii and a half. We need Esty on the show for real at some point. And everybody ate the runway on different levels except for Kelly.

The judging... I don't care for her, but how can you tell Kelly that she was being upstaged by the girls behind her to justify her bottom placement (that runway alone would have been enough justification dd) when... that's what the script called for? There was also no way Visa and Clover could have made their parts funny either, but anyway. At least we won't be forced to sit through any more fiesta de fin de curso costumes and pointless rollerskating, so we are celebrating in this house!

Pitita is getting the winner edit and I think she's going to take it.

Sorry but Pakita should have gone this week. I thought Macarena's lip sync was better.

This wasn't my favourite Snatch Game because they went too quickly into it without giving any context for the characters the queens were playing. But I think Hornella should've won, especially paired with her amazing runway. Bestiah and Visa also gave me some of the best runways from any franchise.
