I think he can still level up his music to a higher standard. He needs better focus and a big emotional growth spurt. He's so emotionally stunted and you can kinda tell he made an album because it's time, not because of any burning need to create. Maybe a long break would be good for everyone. In other news Hotline Bling hit 1bn this week on Spotty. Still a tune!
I'm honestly a bit shocked that this is the direction he took. The fact is that he'll do huge numbers no matter what, so the pandering with stuff like Too Sexy and the fact that every song on the album is essentially a retread of what he's already done is just... sad? He's incredibly talented, has access to whoever he wants to work with, and can take as long as he wants to drop a project, but he doesn't use any of it to his advantage. He's in the perfect position to not play it safe, but he still chooses to. I wish he'd actually pushed himself to make a more interesting album.
I just had no idea the GP were still...clamoring for Drake to the point where he could still break these sort of records? Everything he is doing right now is just so uninteresting!
