Drake - Our Loss

Forgive me for being just plain blunt, but I'm perplexed at the fascination with this guy. Nowadays, we have the pleasure to enjoy loads of black talent. Black talent that is waiting out there to be recognized and receive a share of deserved success. But, somehow, people have decided to keep stanning this void of charisma? I get he's a gorgeous guy, but at this point of his career the general public should have realized he hasn't got the depth to keep going. It is somebody else's turn.

I wasn't a fan of "Toosie Slide" initially, but it hit differently today and I am suddenly a fan. However, I do agree that some of the lyrics are questionable.

I'd credit this to Drake's business savvy. He always picks the right collaborators, always manages to co-sign the right tracks before they reach the mainstream consciousness and he knows how to create a viral moment; I'm still seeing "Hotline Bling" memes.

Toosie Slide is extremely Tiktok-pandering and I haven’t heard his new album yet, but Drake’s catalog of bops is undeniable.

The entire Take Care album is a classic and there’s always a few tracks each mixtape/album that I use. I don’t really like the guy, but you can’t really dismiss how era-defining tracks like Take Care, Marvin’s Room, Started From the Bottom, Hold On, We’re Going Home, One Dance, Passionfruit, etc. are.
