That Margot Robbie's dance clips are more captivating than Dua in her own song about dancing is a problem. That they are shown at exactly the moment Dua should be shown dancing is a full on read.
Her team think it's fully acceptable to put this dross out there, and Dua thinks it's cool to sleepwalk it over the line with zero charisma and not a single ounce of effort. She looks as bored as we feel listening to it.

The way I genuinely can’t tell if this is satire or not.
The song slaps. Were people expecting it to be a push into something innovative for Dua? It's VERY fitting song for the Barbie film. She does disco well.
Kinda like Britneys Ooh La La Smurf song. Quite generic but it was perfect for the Smurfs film

UGH - though i'm not in love with the song it bops a long and is harmless enough... and she is just a living, breathing fantasy isn't she... I mean, I wonder what it would be like to be Dua for the day and feel like you just have the World at your heels...
The main hook vocal that opens the chorus ("dance") is totally not Dua, but the demo singer, no?
It's a decent song, but a bit of a nonevent and a hype killer for her.
It's grown on me a lot over the last day but I still don't love how prominent Caroline Ailin's vocals are here.
I'm ready for her to move on from this sound. It's been 84 years.

The way I’m hoping Cool is one of the TBAs on the soundtrack for absolutely no logical reason and that it’ll be released as the summertime second single.
