I don't know if this is allowed to post here, but I've been so inspired by her lately and decided to put a megamix/DJ set together of some of her best/biggest remixes & songs tonight before the weekend.

So happy for everyone who managed to see her live this year.
She was supposed to play Opener Festival in Poland on July 1st but most of the concerts were cancelled that day due to a heavy storm dd We were being evacuated from the festival site - it was that serious.
The worst thing is that she was booked to play right after Megan Thee Stallion - the possibility of Sweetest Pie performance was rather high I think. Not that this song is anything special in my opinion but seeing those two artists together on stage would be quite something to witness!

Correction: Many US Americans suggested, like, two years ago that while Dua was racking up some hits, she didn't have a lot of household name recognition at the time. PopJustice users who are the type to get upset that Dua promoted smoking by having a fag ended up running a joke into the ground as usual.

Update: It has recently come to my attention that PopJustice user @Monkey Meat is responsible for this by declaring in an October 27, 2021 post that "Even after all this time, Dua hasn't fully clicked in the US." I am suing him for the emotional damages that have since occurred in this thread.

The only point anyone has ever made is that cultural ubiquity includes people outside of our generations and worldviews... A good chunk of the US would know her songs from the radio but not her. Like, no one is taking away Dua's success (especially as a British female artist in the US), but some of you act so obtuse like entire populations live by a constant stream of @chartdata tweets and pop culture discourse. I will say the crowd at her tour was very diverse!

Yeah and I believe the discussion was about whether or not the tour would be a big seller, which was maybe a bit up in the air by this time last year.

I think this mostly comes down to where she's from but her personal life is also very closed off (and it should be) and she mostly just hangs out with her friends, which makes her a boring celebrity in the eyes of outlets that would print a story every time she does anything. It works for her.

She's clicked as a musician but not much as a celebrity. However, everyone knows her. I know it's frowned upon here but so many "locals" I know love her say she's hot, etc but don't even know what she sounds like speaking. Which is fine because I'm sure she would've stayed with Anwar or found someone new to hawk on social if that was her goal. Doesn't even bother to go to the Met Gala or Vanity Fair Oscars which she could easily do. I wouldn't say she's private as she certainly loves an Instagram photo dump but she's not trying to date, befriend, etc to get press.

She was recently all over the news for the catwalk in Paris with Nicole Kidman and a Kardashian. And is rumoured to be dating Aron Piper after they were papped together in Madrid?

I see her all over the news in Europe.

I think they are talking about the US, but yes, she's clearly a celebrity/fashion darling. It's mainly that the country is so diverse and siloed geographically and culturally.
