The picture of the back of the vinyl shows “Act One” as the whole of Radical Optimism in order, and “Act Two” as the rest of the songs she did. That’s not how it went on the night, was it? Strange that they would rearrange the order of the tracks like that.

Frontloading it with Roptimism tracks means any casuals who listen on streaming/buy this might clock a bop and check the album version out, same with existing fans who are reminded of how good some of these tracks are. It makes sense to frame it around the album given it's still the same era.

I’m hearing leaks on TikTok of what people claim are the Tame Impala demos for RO and everything should 1000 times better. I don’t know if they are real or not, but there might have been a world where this album was a ton more experimental and then the label had her pull back?

A real shame.

I saw someone mention most of them were AI but I'm not sure. If there were actual leaks though, we'd have full versions to listen to.

Training Season (in its extended form), Houdini & Illusion ended up being my top 3 songs of 2024 as per my YouTube Music Recap. With the album being my 3rd most played album and her being my 2nd most listened to artist overall. I'm gagged, not gonna lie. Guess I was a Radical Optimist this year.

I don't think there is a tour thread, but I saw her on Saturday night in KL, and she's a star. Super excited to be going again tomorrow in Bangkok with Deleted member 723, it's the only time I've been to the same concert twice and I'm happy for you me.

While it is unusual that there are so many skipped songs from RO (Maria we need ya, though FF not a big surprise), the set list works great at keeping momentum up while adding light and shade to the gig. The crowd in KL was much lower energy for the RO songs (lack of alcohol sold at arena didn't help) so much so that she called out me and my friend (and the random Chinese man next to us who 'got inspired by our confidence' ddd) for dancing the whole way through despite us being off to the side in the seated area.

She clearly had a ball, and loves holidaying going back to countries where she first performed before she was a BPG, and marvelling at her own journey. Having only seen the FN 'live concert' during lockdown, seeing her irl was a rush and some people just have it.
