Ellie Goulding - Higher Than Heaven

I know I'm in minority here, but I'm not opposed to releasing 8 songs before the album! I think it's worked for me. There are still 7 new songs to look forward to - and I'm okay with that.

Like A Savior, Midnight Dreams and Higher Than Heaven are MARVELLOUS! Top tier Ellie for me.
I still think there should have been a 4:33 version of Easy Lover with Ellie's solo verse and Big Sean's. It's a missed opportunity.

They probably should’ve released the deluxe tracks this week because they would’ve got the lowest streams anyway while still creating some buzz if that’s what they were going for.

That new cover on her store is nice but it’s a shame it’s just a cardsleeve, not a digisleeve like the other physicals (and doesn’t come with a booklet either).

Despite having seen and heard most of the songs live, I’m just going to wait for actual launch rather than listen to 3/4 of the album. Heck, looking at her Twitter she’s not even mentioning the 4 songs dropped today, only Miracle.

Fun fact: this’ll be her second officially released cardsleeve CD album since that weird ass “Access All Areas” Delirium thing.

Most of the songs are so stale, but the album art is probably her best.

Scrap all the tunes and hire LOSTBOY to produce the whole album. What’s another six month pushback?

Yeah - I actually quite like the fact I have these 8 songs and there's another batch to come next week. Sometimes it feels like a bit of a chore to trawl through 18-20 tracks the day of an album release (Delirium and Taylor Swift's Lover come to mind) and then not remember half of them until after a good few listens.

That Kew Gardens gig on Amazon is cute, she sounds great! I was going to wait for the full album but couldn’t resist the title track - it’s too gorgeous to wait.

I love that these songs are mostly over 3 minutes, I've missed pop music that isn't structured for TikTok / streaming.

I listened multiple times and couldn't tell you how any go besides Cure For Love. I'm all for a chilled-back cohesive pop album, but this is feeling even less inspired than Delirium.

Is it just me or was this clearly meant to be just for the "normal" version of the song and after that TikTok church audio blew up they had to re edit this to not be so obviously meant to be for the upbeat version?
