Ellie Goulding

Has totally failed to assemble her new hoover correctly.

It's missing the big silver tube to enable her to hoover her rug while standing up.

I asked her about this.

"There is a metal bit too," she said, "but I've got a tiny flat and not much to vacuum."

Poor excuse - 3/10.

You can see the metal tube in the photo where she's layed it all on the floor...

Poor excuse indeed!

Love Ellie. Been following her for a while since she was mentioned on the Neon Gold blog (which is a treasure chest of new artists). Her cover of Black And Gold is exquisite and Guns + Horses is brill.

I look forward to a full release from her!

Besides the whole Hoover thingy... Is she releasing a single and album anytime soon? I like her. But then again, I also liked Polly Scattergood, at least a couple of songs. I hope Ellie does better than Polly.

There's already a thread for her. However, I like the sassy period at the end of this title, so I will add my contribution.

I love this girl! Well, I love one song I've heard from this girl! "Wish I Stayed" will easily be in my top tracks of the year list.

I wish she releases something and not become another Frankmusik where eventually everyone just loses interest and moves on.

probably not Starry Eyed for the Neon Gold single I'm afraid, as that will probably be held back for the big major label hit. just choosing between a few other tracks at the moment, rest assured they're all a few different kinds of amazing though.

I like Starry Eyed. I definitely think it's distinctive enough to do separate her from the pack. It could, if the other material is like this, actually push the sort of Frankmusik production / James Yuill folk-tronica far further commercially than either of those artists managed.

The date for the Neon Gold single is Oct 26 apparently, but is there any info about which song it will be?

I'm sort of a little bit worried for her - I don't want it to be another Little Boots situation in 2010 where the hype and 'name' is so far removed from how well she's actually doing. It seems to be gathering so much momentum already, press-wise.
