En Vogue

Dawn's departure must have derailed the plans around the EV3 album somewhat, but looking at the release dates, there's only 5 months between the release of 'Don't Let Go' and 'Whatever' - a bit longer than usual perhaps, but not enough in itself to kill off the momentum, particularly as 'Don't Let Go' was from a film rather than marketed as the first single from the forthcoming album.

The bigger problem I suspect was that 'Whatever' wasn't strong enough to be a new 'lead' single for the album (even if some of the remixes were pretty good). They'd generally only managed one smash per album ('Hold On' and 'My Lovin') up to then anyway, so maybe they'd used that up already on 'Don't Let Go'.

Really? I thought there was a much bigger gap.

Oh I love Whatever....and thought it was smart single choice based in the album we got. I suppose everyone wanted another Don’t Let Go (Love).......

This was it

Didn’t they record this song because Terry was supposed to sing a verse on Don’t Let Go, but she was too sick so they got the same writers to do another song to showcase Terry? I swear I heard that story somewhere, probably on here!

Anyone remember Amanda Cole? She was briefly in the group in 02-03. She's on YouTube now. She just posted her cover of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman

Imagine having your only album with a group be their Christmas album, of all things. Did we ever find out why she left?

En Vogue is featured on the new Toni Braxton album, on a track called Tear Me Up, Knock You Down. The album is out on March 23 (two weeks before En Vogue's album).

I'm a little surprised they didn't put it onto the Electric Café tracklisting, which is:

1. Blue Skies
2. Déjà Vu
3. Rocket
4. Reach Me
5. Electric Café
6. Life
7. Love The Way
8. Oceans Deep
9. Have A Seat (featuring Snoop Dogg)
10. I'm Good
11. So Serious

Rocket has made it into the top 40 of the Hip-Hop/R&B Airplay chart in the US. No sign of it on any other chart yet, but it's encouraging that they're getting some airplay.
