Eurovision 2024

I think this is a little reductive; for most smaller countries this is the only opportunity for artists to get the opportunity to present their artists globally. Even though social media and the internet exist, the content on Google, Facebook and Instagram is overwhelmingly generated in Anglophone countries. Just because the platforms exist doesn't mean they are just or equitable, whereas Eurovision is a captivate audience, even if it's for a week per year.
Very fair, I don’t disagree. I should have been more precise… I was thinking more about the “hundreds of people from the delegations fly into one country for a month” part of it. Maybe viewers value all of the acts physically performing on the same stage more than I realize. I guess my point is they *could* conceivably throw to a live show in each country during the broadcast. Should they, is another story.

cross-boarder collaboration via songwriting camps
When Jimmy Joker co-writes the songs for every country in one year, the matrix will surely collapse in on itself.

Considering they can't always connect properly to the person reading out the points, I'm not sure this logistically could work.

Switzerland is my lowest ranked winner (22nd) since Jamala back in 2016 (21st place in my personal ranking), so this whole year left a bitter taste considering it was packed with quality through and through.

he/they
I don't have any resource currently regarding to this issue but I remember some news when last rehearsals were around the corner, EBU did respond as something like that to the delegations who wanted to withdraw or show some kind of protest: "it doesn't matter if you withdraw we can use another live performances anyway"

Regarding they also did that with Portugal's performance (they uploaded iolanda's semi final performans as GF performance until RTP got angry about it) that might be the reason they changed their mind and participated in the end.
