Regarding they also did that with Portugal's performance (they uploaded iolanda's semi final performans as GF performance until RTP got angry about it) that might be the reason they changed their mind and participated in the end.

I mean sure they could have used another live performance. But how would that work when there's no one to cut to in the green room during the recaps/results later in the show and what would they have done with the winners performance if said withdrawn country would be voted as the winner?

I would be interested in what the commentators would or were allowed to say during those performances.

I don't have a source because I'm too lazy to find one, but I saw S10 (Dutch participant when it was hosted in Italy a few years back) on a talkshow and she said that people backstage were really unprofessional. She compared it to the Dutch media environment, saying something like "people are very professional here. There, it wasn't the case. People would come up to me and ask me to take a picture for their niece, nephews, etc. That would never happen here". Apparently the Dutch delegation filed a complaint about that at the time, which I didn't know. I don't know if this situation was specific for Italy or if it's about the whole EBU. She seemed to insinuate the latter.

Upon further listens, it's a bit too mellow. If Unforgettable is a 10 in energy, everything else is a 7 in the energy stakes. The cover of Wicked Game is dreadful.

The EBU has commissioned an independent investigation of its own organisation to address the complaints that were made my multiple countries about the unsafe situation behind the scenes. They will anonymously interview participating delegations.

I can't find an English language article and I'm too lazy to summarise the rest, but Google Translate should do.

AVROTROS should be more explicit when it comes down to what kind of measures they want the EBU to apply to the contest. Penalize Israel for a year due to its delegation's behaviour in 2024, for example?
