Even if they don't cancel, I'm sure there are a lot of fans who won't risk attending. I know I wouldn't. They should just postpone it now and be done with it. It's just a music show.

Can they just cancel JESC instead and move ESC to Q4?

In theory they could postpone it to Q4 but the problem is about the next ESC? When to hold that one? It would depend on who wins but I think only a country like Sweden, Germany and UK could organize the next ESC within 6-7 months and I doubt any of them are winning ddd

Just put regular Eurovision on September and get it back to its standard schedule for next year. It is that easy.

Booking the venue next year is the hard part. As we've seen it takes months to do. It can take all the way until September to announce a venue when the contest ended in May. If the contest ends in September we might not get a venue until January. But other than that issue (and possibly the strain this puts on broadcasters) I think the best solution is to postpone. If the Olympics can postpone, so can Eurovision.

I think if the winning country felt unable to prepare in, say, 7 months or however long it might be, the Big 5's TV stations should be compelled to step in and help. These would be exceptional circumstances.

You know the way most likely either Germany or the UK will host the contest if Australia should ever win (but I would imagine with Aussie hosts)? Maybe one of them will be super chill and organize it on behalf of whoever wins this year but let them use their own presenters.

Or why not just move it to June or July?

I understand the case with Australia.

But this year there could be a first time winner like Lithuania, Malta or Bulgaria. I don‘t think they would like if it was hosted in Germany for example.

Am I the only one who thinks that the current top 2 in the betting odds (Bulgaria and Switzerland) are just not realistic? I understand that both songs are great and deserve to rank very high but top 2? What caused Iceland and Lithuania to drop in the odds? I believe they are more likely going to win this whole thing.

I think its about the jurys. Though I think that would mostly impact Russia.

I'm amazed people are still talking who they think might win when the more obvious question is when and how they're gonna cancel/postpone this thing? Have the EBU come out with any kind of statement yet?

Not to bum everyones buzz but it can't really be postponed - it will take about 12-18 months before Ms Corona either washes through society or there is a vaccine available. We can expect some sort of lockdowns, quarantine or restricted movement until that point. I think people are hoping for a miracle but the only miracle that can happen is that a vaccine works, can be mass produced and distributed to the world or this remsdivir (sp?) stuff (flu treatment made for Ebola) works (initial rumours suggests 50% efficacy). ESC this year and next is in doubt. I'd be super surprised if they didn't cancel it.
