Eurovision Song Contest 2022

I have to say there seems to have been a real buzz with this year's Eurovision and the quality of the songs. Not sure if it was a post pandemic thing but it seems to be really popular this year, even with non fans.

 

Not Romania threatens to quit ESC after their jury fucked up.

 

Eurovision gets laughably low ratings in Romania on TVR1 so I wonder if they’re using it as an excuse

 

Of all the people whose opinions about Eurovision could be solicited I’m not sure the Tornero guy is necessarily the best bet…

 

I just looked this up and Romania had 369,000 viewers for the Grand Final this year, which is apparently massively up on last year and the highest figure for 5 years. They must have next to no one watching normally.

 

Honestly they should be thanking the EBU for the publicity!

 

Weeks on and I still can't get this song out of my head.

 

I will never get over this.

I don't think TVR1 has particularly high ratings generally.

The winners auctioned the cup and gave the profits to the army, around 900k dollars.

 

I’m still cracking up at the fact that Dotter went on international television and said to hundreds of millions of people “It’s me, Dotter here. From Stockholm, Sweden… with my LITTLE TOT!”

 

It's her revenge for losing Melfest by one point

 

And then being one point behind the Mamas again the next year hahahaha

 

In the end I am glad she didn‘t win 2020.

I would have been heartbroken cause of the canceled contest.
