Anybody have tips for getting tickets for the live shows? It's a bucket list goal for me and a close friend (living in the UK) and we could use the help as I know it can be difficult

Join an OGAE club, but they have different requirements on access to fan tickets (UK would be a bad choice for example). Otherwise you're part of the on-the-day sale which can go either way.
