Germany should really be taking a look in the Eurovision mirror. Of the last 8 contests, they finished last or second to last in 7 of them. Something isn’t landing.
Has Germany ever gone full-on Bavarian 'oompah' or techno?
They - as well as the UK - seem reluctant to ever embrace any traditional musical heritage they have, whereas a lot of other countries proudly put it out there.
Though if the UK delegation decided to send Morris Dancers I'd have to go to a corner of the world where Eurovision is unheard of.

I don’t know if Cascada really count as techno, but that seems like the closest to it that I can remember?
Oh, but they did! Massively tipped to win, except for the small issue of Germany having to enter the audio qualifying round in 1996 due to lots of countries entering Eurovision. Cut to Germany being shockingly eliminated and the introduction of the Big 5.
It definitely must've pissed off the German broadcaster, and Eurovision chiefs, as it is one of the most populated countries in Europe so that was a huge chunk of viewers lost. Germany got their revenge in 1997 by sending this horribly outdated song that wouldn't have been out of place in 1985.

Whilst the actual viewing figures in the UK, despite being the highest on record only by around 10% - I don't that actually reflects the cultural impact of the contest here this year.
More than any year before, every city had a wide plethora of sold out viewing events, in the UK I could have lost off 30 venues that were packed full and more people watching in parties at home meaning the amount of people the show reached far outreached the figures released resulting in the songs having my much larger impact.

I know it would never happen because we as a nation have collectedly decided to ignore its existence, but I was so hoping for the words “I hosted the American Song Contest!” to come out of Kelly’s mouth.

Did anyone on here pay extra for the souvenir tickets from Ticketmaster? Normally when I've ordered them in the past for other shows they've arrived within a week of the show date but my Eurovision ones still haven't. I've messaged them multiple times and now been told replacements will be sent out but they've not arrived yet either

Yes have them ordered too but nothing received yet.
I read a couple fans started getting them a few days ago but most don‘t have it yet.
