Eurovision Song Contest 2023 - Liverpool

OK but to be fair she did hit like 12-15 more notes than Jann. His performance is literally the worst I’ve seen this season and I don’t understand why tens of thousands of people are signing actual petitions to hear that dying crow sing on the Eurovision stage instead.

I also have zero understanding of the “oooh the EBU should intervene” argument since we literally allow internal selections.

I hope those of you who are traveling to Liverpool are bringing your “LEAVE BLANKA ALONE” signs.

I wonder how the EBU is using these few months when it’s releva-

Ok

Isn’t Eurovision already a HAY festival?

Thankful that it’s only fiction titles that can be eligible because I do NOT need you-know-who’s memoir to be selected for Martin‘s Book Club.

It's absurd. I am still baffled by all the things that have been happening since the national final. I mean, you'd think Jann's song was this amazing piece of artistry, but it's just... not? It's messy and I hate operatic voice types. This is not to say that Blanka's song is great. The entire national final was a disaster and I kept cringing all the time. I think we should withdraw until we learn to take ESC seriously.

I had to go watch this to see what the fuss was about and I'm totally confused. They seemed unable to reach majority of the notes, the operatic vocals were giving me Monet X Change and they also seemed slightly mortified on stage at times. The winner wasn't great by any means but the outpour of petitions is a lot.

According to this poll, Mimicat is the favourite to win Festival da Canção, followed by Cláudia Pascoal and Edmundo Inácio. I'm hoping Cláudia takes it, but Mimicat would be fine too, even if I feel her song comes off as a bit gimmicky.

I... don't want Loreen to win. The song does absolutely nothing for me. But then again, neither did Euphoria. My Heart Is Refusing Me (the 2011 Melfest version) on the other hand is sublime.
