Eurythmics & Annie Lennox

Am I right in remembering The King And Queen Of America CD single came in a wooden box?

Yes. They really really tried with that single, RM magazine would have ads every week, a new format every week too.

I was obsessed with S S Sputnnie Fuzznnox

Still processing last night - she was absolutely phenomenal! I didn't think I'd get the chance to ever see her live. She has really looked after her voice. It was strong, agile and she still has the power and range. What an icon! Loved the setlist too. I mean, to have Beverley Knight, Celeste and Nadine Shah as support and then to bring out Hozier and Paloma Faith... it was a really special evening.

She opened with Dark Road then launched into her solo stuff. Re Eurythmics, I think she kept it to the big hits … Love Is A Stranger, Here Comes The Rain Again, Must Be Talking To An Angel (with daughter Lola), Sisters, Missionary Man (a surprise … loved it), and of course, Sweet Dreams for the big encore. Solid, solid set.

Thanks. A short and sweet setlist but pretty flawless. Must have been special. Always hoped to see Eurythmics live but can't see it happening again now.

I was listening to Why a couple of months ago and while I've always loved it, it struck me that it's a very unusual lead single. I am surprised that as a 13 year old I liked it. It's not the sort of thing I particularly was into at the time (which was far more poppy stuff like Take That, En Vogue and The Shamen!) but did always love that song and felt Annie's pain!
