Exercise

LET THE HANGERS HANG.

Also, I wish I could find more rag tops that AREN'T fitted like I'm going to a Limp Bizkit concert but the only good ones are literally from Vintage Genetics, which have to be shipped internationally all the way from the Netherlands. I'VE HAD IT.

Got my Garmin 165 Music so it's over for you the other girls.
Imagine the progress I can book with heart rate zones information? Wew.
Now if only I gave up drinking, dancing and partying? Neva!

I'm very attached to my Garmin now and it gives out great little bits of info about my life. I've been focusing on reducing calories and a more sustainable diet over the past 5 weeks and being able to see those benefits in the health stats is really interesting. Resting HR down, weight down, energy levels good.

Lads, I've been on a running kick this year, and have consistently been running 15 + miles each week, sometimes up to 25 / 30 miles. Previously I might run 3 -5 miles a week, so I've really upped my distances.

But my question is this: why am not losing a jot of weight? I have never ran like this ever in my life, and I've lost a grand total of 2.5kg since January. I'm not like actively on a diet, but I am kinda semi-concious about what I eat. I am partial to a weekly McDonald's, and weekend restaurant food is obviously full of butter and oil and salt and I've never ordered a salad in my life. But in the week its air-fryed meat and veg, a small lunch, snacking on fruit etc. I don't get why my progress is so slow? Is it because I'm not in a calorie defecit or whatever? Is it the weekly McDonalds? Is my running technique bad? Help a brother out!

It's hard to say without all the data, but some of it simply comes down to genetics. Exercise comes with tons of benefits that don't always translate to losing weight and visible change in your body, so don't feel too disheartened about it. Running also builds muscles in your lower body and core to a certain degree, so if you haven't done much running previously in your life, there's also an exchange of body weight going on where you're losing fat but gaining muscles.

Treating yourself once a week is perfectly fine, but you can always look closer at your treats. Get carbonated water instead of soda with your fast food, have more chicken and fish instead of red meat.

If you're actively setting out to lose weight and fat in particular, I'd see a dietitian or personal trainer for a couple of sessions. If it's not an active goal of yours, I wouldn't stress too much about it. You're doing a great job!

Trampoline party at Vas's villa, with cats during intermissions. Am ready.

I suffered a back spasm last Thursday, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone my god. I legit couldn’t move for two days. It’s put my half marathon training in a bit of a pickle. I am better now but my trainer is advising me to go for a 5K run tomorrow just to test the water and slowly build up my distance again. Sigh!

On top of that, the back spasm has made me really nervous about strength and resistance training as well which sucks.

I have to remind myself the progress I’ve made so far is achievable again, I just need to be patient.

I'm seeing a lot of disproportionate young guys around my gym lately - huge biceps, but tiny shoulders; massive pecs but everything else average... is it a steroid thing or just odd workout priorities?

Could be both. Steroids should make all the muscles grow as long as you work them. But if you don’t… ñññ

Yesterday I tried my first overhead squat. I managed, but I have no idea what they’re good for.
