So, who loves 'Friends'?

MEEEE!

Best episode ever is 'The One With The Embryos', which is the episode where Ross creates the board game and they play for each others apartments.

Just today I quoted Friends for no reason when I remembered the time everyone yells "SURPRISE!" at Ross when they think he's Phoebe, and he drops her birthday cake and utters the immortal line:

"I got her a lemon schmoosh"

I like Friends.
Bought the complete box a while ago for 80euro, and it makes for a damn good watch.
I never properly loved the show though.
It's probably because:
- everybody loves and knows the show, which makes it a bit less special to me.. doesn't feel like 'my show', unlike stuff like Ally McBeal, Pushing Daisies, Arrested Development.
- I always need a bit more than just good humor to properly love a show.

Whilst I technically am a big fan of Friends it could never be up there with my favourite TV shows (Seinfeld, The Simpsons) because the jokes fall flat as often as they don't. But when they do, they're hilarious. I also find the characters of Ross and Joey to be supremeley annoying sometimes, which is a downer. Joey especially is only very occasionally actually funny, mostly due to Matt Le Blanc being a terrible actor.

I love Friends! I spent a large portion of my student loan buying all the boxsets last year.
My favourite episodes are 'The One With All The Cheesecakes' and 'The One With The 'Cuffs'. Basically the episodes that have a lot of Rachel-Chandler interaction, I thing those two always worked together so well.
I realised today that I will watch absolutely anything with Matthew Perry in it.

Favourite girl: Phoebe (handsdown)
Favourite guy: Ross (but that's probably because I find him cute, and Chandler and Joey quite annoying)

Oh I HATE that one! Chandler's such an irritating cunt in it!

Chandler is always an irritating cunt!

Little bits stick in my mind and surface regularly - like Joey with the big bucket of KFC that he's only eating the skin of.

'How you doin'?' got used way too much.

The thought of it makes my toes curl.

You could not BE more wrong. You could try, but you would not be successful.
Chandler loses it a bit towards the end of the show, I'd say from the point where he moves in with Monica onwards, but until then he's absolute genius. I suppose it helps that Matthew Perry is so likeable anyway (well, I think he is).

Yes! It was a bit of an unlikely pairing somehow, but it worked!

As I said in the 'Love/Hate' thread, my favourite episodes are 'The One With Phoebe's Birthday Party' ("Pick up the sock, pick up the sock, PICK UP THE SOCK!!!") and 'The One Where Everybody Finds Out' ("MY EYES! MY EYES!" / "Actually, we saw them doing it up against the window")

Edit: And 'The One Where They're Up All Night' with Phoebe's fire alarm is hilaaaaarious!

I could talk about Friends for days and days and days, but to spare you the boredom it is quite simply the best TV show ever isn't it? I mean, normally that would be quite an outrageous statement, but for Friends it's unbelievably true. It still gets amazingly high viewing on E4 for daily repeats (which, by the way, is how i've watched it. I think i've seen every single episode now, but I saw the start of one I hadn't seen about a month ago and squealed like a little girl.) and everyone loves it.

Everyone! My dad loves it. Even my mum (who is against just about everything) loves it. I'm sure my grandmother saw an episode once and enjoyed it (although that may have been Futurama.)

I think among my favourite episodes are (I can't remember all the official names so I'll make them up), The One With The Lottery, The One Where Ross And Rachel Break Up Massively The First Time, and The Big London Wedding (purely for the amazing first time you ever watch it and hear "take thee Rachel")

And....breathe.

I was OBSESSED with Friends and have the complete boxset of it but watching a few episodes the other week it just felt a bit tired, I think I may have watched certain episodes a bit too much! I love the thanksgiving episode where they play football and Phoebe, of course, makes the show!

'WHUPPAH!'

I started watching somewhere around season 6 or 7, bought the existing box sets and then continued to buy them as they came out. I remember paying up to €70 (!) for one (!) box set! Now you can find an entire season for under €10!

Oh, please do so! Which were your favourite guest stars?

Speaking of guest stars I loved Jennifer Coolidge's appearance in it, she's a great comedy actress but her part in the show really nailed it for me!

'Smell my neck, it's not perfume...it's me! My natural scent!'
