I know there are already a couple of threads, but with all this Dolly Rockers stuff popping up everywhere I thought it'd be good to start a general thread to discuss it all.

The Dolly Rockers are now giving away a free download of 'Je Suis Une Dolly' from their official site!

Is anyone else having trouble downloading it? It just opens another page with a Quicktime player in it and there's no 'Save target as' option on the link.

I downloaded it yesterday without any problems.

I love all the songs on the promo disk. 'How Did I End Up With U?' is my favourite at the moment.

"Everywhere"? You mean just Popjustice and few blogs who copy him.

It annoys me when people just do General threads for people who clearly don't need it.

While I agree 'everywhere' is a bit of an overstatement there seems to be something quite unusual (maybe not that unusual - but nicely surprising) in the way people have kind of latched on to this band since Parlophone have started doing whatever they're doing - by that I mean things as diverse as The Guardian and Scott Mills. There seems to be a sort of energy to this which Girls Can't Catch (FOR EXAMPLE) doesn't have, yet.

What I meant was that what we don't need is one thread on them being Popjustice song of the day, two threads on their YouTube channel and one on 'How Did I End Up With You' which is also being used to talk about their sampler.

If there's a confirmed album title I am more than happy to change this thread's title.

They have more of a diy feel, like the girls actually thought of this concept for a band and then made it reality, also the image is more powerful and they have that tomboy-ish but also girls' girl quality. They seem to bedoing everything right.

Love Je Suis Une Dolly. Completely ridiculous. The accents make the whole song.

"Got nowt to lose in the Moulin Rouge so we flash our pants if we can-can"

They don't make 'em like this anymore. Except with this band...

I only know of them thanks to PJ posts, but I think they're fab. Their cute little sketch-type videos aren't as funny as they're clearly supposed to be, but the Je Suis Une Dolly video is brilliant, and I agree that it's the DIY-feel that makes them.
Plus the accents.

They also have this Girls Aloud during Biology meets Blair off Gossip Girl that is so hot right now and makes them hot to lil girls and grown wo/men alike.

UPDATE I just watched the video oh my they are all so pretty!!!

I love the dirty South Yorkshire accents. 'Nowt' needs to be used more in pop music lyrics. So it's a little bizzare that the video used to introduce the band is set, erm, on the London Underground....

They are like a Northern Pipettes, although now the Pipettes have two Welsh member, but you know what I mean.

Girls Can't Catch don't have any decent material and are terribly, and derivatively styled. It's no wonder no one is that bothered.
