  1. Literally this.

  2. 1. All For You (this one is just a pop-leaning continuation of her 90s excellence to me)
    2. Unbreakable
    3. Damita Jo
    4. Discipline
    5. 20 Y.O.
  3. All For You is quite good in its own right. Just coming after such a superb run of albums didn't help I think.

  4. Yes. Everything about this list is perfection...

    ...and 100% correct.

  5. While I enjoy All for You and Damita Jo more on a sheer bop level, I feel Unbreakable shares the concept album ambition of Velvet Rope and Rhythm Nation so it has a slight edge over them.
  6. Ya’ll’s opinions on her post-Velvet Rope output is... interesting to say the least.

    Damita Jo > Unbreakable > All For You >>>>>>>> Discipline > 20 Y.O.

Technically, Discipline should be so far down that it's on page 600 of the thread, but ain't nobody got time for that.

  10. Discipline, just feels like an album anyone could release. It lacks the Janet Jackson DNA on it and really does show I think.

  11. Discipline wins this rate on the strength of Feedback and So Much Betta alone.

  12. I remember checking the Wikipedia page for Discipline (the album) about 10 years ago, and this is what it said:

the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience.

    Also, an album by janet.”

Ddd that was it. Literally that. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and I haven’t stopped laughing about it ever since...

I think this is how I'd currently rank them.

Unbreakable really took me by surprise, Take Me Away is that bitch.

  14. Oh, and this is one of my absolute favourites from All For You:

Gorgeously uplifting and so emotional. It packs an even bigger punch when you think about everything that she’d been through in her life up to that point.

Unbreakable is just sooooo under appreciated, that forced me to go back to her 00's stuff which.... is mostly forgettable ddd. Feedback though, whew she snapped.
  17. So random that lead single Just a Little While is the last song out of 22 on Damita Jo’s track listing...
