Girl Bands in the 'pop' heyday

You know, we should.
We can call ourselves Dazzley! (brilliant) and solely rewrite flopped early 00's tracks.

We're sitting on gold here.

I might actually change my username to Dazzley.

Or we could go on tour singing flopped early 00's tracks and people would be like "Wow, they write some amazing songs"

Then at the height of our fame we could get cocky and hire the original performers as background singers. Just for the sake of it.

Aren't the Honeyz back to their original line up tho? so the SHE member that replaced the one I can't remember the name of, isn't in it anymore?

The Honeyz broke up over 3 years ago now, Mariama was the one who replaced Heavenli for 2 singles then walked out on the group after several internal problems & then Heavenli came back, then it all went tits up.

Although Mariama appeared on the re-released album cover just like Jenny Frost of Atomic Kitten she only actaually appeared vocally on the new added tracks and did not re-record anything. They were miles better with Heavenli anyways so I was personally very happy when she returned & quite sad when they called it a day.

I wished they had stuck around, whilst no way near as good as Eternal they sort of filled the gap vacated by them for a brief time.

The WORST EVER EVER EVER girl band has to be that god awful VANILLA was that their name?

and to believe they had 2 singles released & a finished album, this clearly was the worst time for music, actually make Atomic Kitten look like they had talent.

I'd blocked them from my memory. They were so awful. The video ^^^ looks and sounds like a bunch of girls on an 18-30s holiday singing around the pool. haha

Brings back so may memories of first year at uni. I shouldn't have sold it! It was brilliant in its crapness! What was I thinking?!?! I want it back!

I think I have it somewhere actually from when I stole it from a gay bar I as DJing at last year.
So if I find it under my piles of junk, I can send you the CD Single if you like?

It has a different cover than the one pictured above.

"Talk To The Hand" by the Honeyz was pretty good but I don't think it ever officially got released.

Oddly they were playing "Wonder Number 8" at the hairdressers last time I had my tuppence waxed.

Nope, the single got pulled before it came out. Not surprising to see why. It was pretty wank... along with most of 'Harmony' actually.

That's really nice of you. Are you sure you don't want to keep it for your collection? It is a shite classic after all! haha

Love the 'rewriting flop singles' theme.

Wasn't one of Madasun meant to be a 'really good' guitarist? Actually, wasn't she German?

And who sang Bugs? I remember the song and the video but not the name of the band - that was an attempt to go into Nirvana-type rock

Does anyone remember SuperSister? They were a really cheesey trio girl group from Sheffield I think. They sang "I like my man, like I like my coffee. Hot, strong and sweet like toffee" haha

I bought the single when it came out years ago. Sold it recently on ebay for £15 was very bizarre! I didn't think anyone would buy it!

EDIT:
EEEK! the video is on youtube:

This song was, and still is, MASSIVE in Liverpool. They did a PA at a club here and it's still played all the time in a few of the clubs and bars. It was probably a scouser who bought it off ebay!

That probably explains it. I listed a bunch of cd singles and it was the only one that sold. I listed it at 1p and couldn't believe how many bids it got!
