Girls Aloud

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Why the worry about the Girls on X factor? They're not there to be judged, they're the star act on the results show and as such they will suck up to them. Louis will try and pretend he's their old chum, Simon will flirt with them and Dannii and sharon will say how they look faaaaaaaaaaaabulous. They will be given technical help to make their vocals sound good, the album will sell by the bucketload, the single too etc; etc; There won't be any attempt to pitch them against Hope other than to say 'look what you can achieve'

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I doubt the judges will even comment on Girls Aloud, theres no need for them to.

Plus if they say anything bad, they'll have to deal with Sarah and Cheryl coming back at them... cause you know they will...

and Nicola would just STARE

I'm not sure where I'll be living in May next year, I'd love to go to the Newcastle date, cos the crowd there is brilliant, and Cheryl properly comes to life (she cries and everything!)

I'll probably have to go to Birmingham though and just stay with my parents if I am living elsewhere.

I'll be going to Birmingham or London, since I live an hour from each.

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I'm going to Glasgow, Newcastle and London. Hopefully more, i really want to go to Brighton again, it was great last year.

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Alas. I have never seen them on tour (a part from on dvds... )... but I want to go this year, just in case it's my last chance. Just wondered (i'm a complete novice at getting tickets, etc) where would I get tickets that would ensure that I was at least within screaming distance of them... and how much do they usually cost? (bla bla)

Thanking someone in advance.

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

With charges added on, the tickets usually come just shy of £30. For the last two tours, I've been in the fifth and fourth rows, respectively, and in the Chemistry tour was three seats away from the catwalk, and we got ours from Ticketmaster during the pre-sale. You'll most likely get the same sort of seats whether you book online, over the phone or at the venue itself.

Cheers... thought they'd be far more expensive than that!

On a completely different note - looking forward to the X factor performance tomorrow night! I've seen the performance of Call the Shots at the Unicef charity events (on youtube of course) and the best bit in my opinion (Nicolas middle 8) seemed a bit fluffy... I couldn't really here her properly - I hope it works better on the night.

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Aren't we allowed to speculate over tour dates? Where's that in the rules? This is just confusing now/

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I went to the Chemistry tour and was three rows from the front, on Nadine's side. I was so chuffed... mainly because Sarah was up the other end so we didn't have her foghorn voice projected directly into our ears.

Being so close to the front has its cons though, cos you can clearly tell which tracks they are miming.

I went to the WWTNS? tour and the Chemistry tour. Which city was it?

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Oh welcome back thread!
Could someone please link me to the album's lyrics? that is, if there's any on the web right now considering it has yet to be released.
If not, could someone just write Black Jacks chorus lyrics? it somehow doesn't make complete sense for me at the moment.
"Black jacks running down my back, and i say stop cause i love you baby?"
if that's the actual lyric, what the hell does it mean?

I went to see them at Birmingham NIA, thank fuck it wasn't the NEC because that is a complete bitch to get to if you don't have your own transport.

Do not speculate on Nadine or any of the other girls' sexuality.

Why is Nadine's name highlighted in that rule? Until reading that line I've never even thought about Nadine's sexuality, but the phrasing of that rule has made me do so, defeating the purpose of the rule.

It should simply read "Do not speculate on the any of the girls' sexuality."

I dont know why thats even there, I wasn't aware of any speculation around any of Aloud's sexuality!
What if I know for a fact that Kimberley is a lesbian? What could I do then...other than tell Lisa...

I'm sure it's not against the law to discuss the girls sexuality...but it's private to them and nice to leave them be.

I can't recall this ever happening though...

Yeah. As they're so considerate to not flaunt their private lives in OK! we should be just as respectful. The star-fan thing is a partnership after all

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

to be honest, that point of discussing the girls' sexuality should've never been written, all it has made us is discuss it.

it'd be better if it was deleted, or even edited just to remove Nadine's name, it's not working if it's trying to be funny. i mean with all the rules mentioned, i don't think anything can be.

Indeed. I am actually finding myself checking everything I'm writing so that it doesn't break any rules...but it's hard for us Irish you know.

Now everytime I get a PM from you my heart will skip a beat…

But seriously, we aren't permitted to discuss anyone's sexuality on PJ, although many comments slip through the net. Even those who have photoshoots in OK! magazine have a right to some privacy.

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Yeah I've always known about this rule. Never understood where it came from though.

It's all legal guff. Basically if you say someone's a big gay they can sue you for libel/slander, whichever one of those is printed.
