Was the 2-disc of The Sound Of actually out a week before the normal edition?
(Or is the 30 october one the one that replaced I Think We're Alone Now with its single mix?)

Music Week have a release date of the 30th Oct, I think that was it. They wouldn't have released the album over two weeks, they'd want to capitalise on first week sales.

Yeah unless it was that reissue with the right version of I Think.. on it, but I think that kinda happened unannounced instead of it being an actual reissue with a date?

Yeah, I would've thought maybe the week after the release of I Think We're Alone Now, which would've been, maybe 7-8 weeks after the original album.

Yeah that didn't happen till after the single release and wasn't announced.

I tried to scour through Youtube to find the adverts for the first GH album...and the oldest one I could find was Nov 18 2006

which doesn't really help as it just says "out now"

Well it was still a fun watch!
I could probably find something on the old forum..

Oh apparently this board was already active in late 2006.
Did get a good giggle out of the topic title 'Watch Out Girls Aloud: Here's Clea!" though

Edit:
yeah it definitely wasn't out on the 23rd
Re: The Sound Of Girls Aloud

You can hear 30 sec previews of Money and I Think We're Alone Now here:

I quite like the brassy instrumental and jazzy vocals in Money. ITWAN is, well, catchy, with the echoy thing going on. Wouldn't surprise me if it became something of a hit, especially with a slightly older(I nearly said, "more mature", god help us!) audience.

Yeah I’m pretty certain it was the 30th (Friday before in Ireland) because it was very close to Halloween. I also remember HMV had this picture up as the cover on the website for a while

Yeah just came across a thread that had this cover + a fake tracklist
It would really be going head to head with Overloaded had they gone with that

Yeah I think that is a mistake, they both came out on the same day and it was the 30th for both not the 23rd if I remember correct.
found this on the old official site.IMG_4800.jpeg

Yeah I assume on the site it's just the only listing on the album and they updated it to its final tracklist.
