Goldfrapp - Head First

My first reaction to reading the front page was simply - 'AAAAAARRRRRRGGGG!'. I knew I'd be excited when Goldfrapp announced their return but on reading that it was an up-tempo comeback I had no idea how excited I'd be. March seems a very long way away.

In 2009:

2 days waiting = very long
5 days = very, very long
2 weeks = inscrutably painfully torturishly long
March 8, 2010 = "somewhere next millennium"

But we'll be hearing the new track waaaay before then. Here's hoping there will be B-sides (ok, ok, it's a long shot I know).

The tracklisting for the soundtrack for Nowhere Boy has been released. It's all music used/inspired by the film. None of the score written by Will and Alison. Boo.

Italo-disco? Sounds exciting! It's a sound that lots of smaller indie artists does seem to do these days, but none of them have quite made it properly big yet but in 'buzz' circles.

Making it "cool" will only work in the UK/America.

The connotations that the Italo-genre has in Europe and the type of revival it has gotten are vastly different. (see "Master Blaster")

This news just made my day! Thank you Popjustice!!! There are only a few artist that get me so excited when I hear they're putting a new album out. Right now I can only think of Goldfrapp and Annie.

I really like the way Mr. PJ described the song in the front page, it already sounds like I'm gonna love it.

I have to say Seveth Tree is my favorite albums of the last 5 or 6 years, it's a masterpiece. But I didn't want them to make another album like that. I'm ready to dance now! :)

So excited for this. Mr. PJ's description sounds like the perfect pop tune. I'm in that camp that completely let them fall off the radar after Seventh Tree (in my top 3 most disappointing albums ever) so I'm really excited to be really excited about them again. Goldfrapp gone Spagna is a very good thing indeed....

SO EXCITED!!

I already love it before hearing one single note, haha.

Hope the first single is listenable soon in some form somewhere.

Something new from Allison and Will is always something to look forward to, and the front page write up certainly does nothing to derail this sentiment.

Are there any good singles or albums lined up for January or February though? Those might be two rough months.

J.Lo's album's out then. Not sure if that fits your definition of good?

Not sure how excited everyone is about Vampire Weekend, but they've got their new album out in January, as does Kesha. Then Hot Chip, Sugababes and hopefully MGMT are in February I think?

Would like a bit of Kate Nash sometime soon as well.

February also has a proper release for the Natalie Imbruglia album and March has Mini Viva and Alphabeat. March is turning out to be very good indeed.
