GOT7

Tracklist for Breath of Love : Last Piece

I Wonder how they are going to promote this with 2 singles. How long will each comeback be?

I wondered that too. I thought maybe Breath was just going to be a pre release track and then Last Piece is the actual title track, even though everything is very closely being released at pretty much the same time. Very early Blackpink. I’ll take as many songs and videos JYPE let’s them have/release. I’m glad Last Piece is a JB song and hopefully he didn’t have to change this one 50 times before it made the album!

Yeah I felt bad for JB after watching that show with JYP and how he rejected his song instantly. Hopefully most of the guys had an easier time getting their work on it. I'm reading that since GOT7 doesn't have a US distributor their album won't count on the billboard charts. Its a shame because those US pre-orders will count for nothing on the Billboard charts..

The producer for Breath worked on Aura from the last album which Youngjae also co-wrote, and Last Piece is produced by Zayson who’s worked with JB on his solo music as well as Psycho by Baekhyun, so I think we’re in for something very R&B which excites me. Wave is produced by Distract and Jinyoung who did The End, so I’m ready for another emotional ballad with a dreamy soundscape.

I'm trying to get into GOT7's output this weekend and so far, what really stands out to me are the following:

I guess it's just because I'm in the mood for lighter visuals right now that I leaned more towards these, even though I really like You Calling My Name and Not By The Moon. Any other suggestions, as well as nice variety show and behind the scenes stuff I can watch?

For lighter, poppier GOT7 then I suggest this:

As well as this, but it's rather divisive among fans:

But for their moodier, more R&B side there's also this:

GOT7 are variety kings, I don't know another group who are more entertaining to watch.

I LOVE Just Right, though I can get why it's divisive. I guess it's not surprising I love it, though because I stan Ice Cream ddd as for You Are, it seems like it's perfect for a morning playlist.

The variety shows were cute! I love how they unapologetically use their Jackson Wang thirst trap card in the second one.

Being so decisive I think Just Right is their most popular song? The video views sorta proves that.

Their Hard Carry shows are very good too. I would recommend starting with Hard Carry 2.5. It shows off their personalities well and show how competitive they can be. Youngjae and Jackson are great in this. Also I love the Jinson interactions here as well.

I think the song is cute and I know I asked for something cutesy, but I feel like what made it divisive was the video went a bit too far with the cutesy? They could've held back a little. It kind of reminds me of TT by Twice in that regard with far better dancing (no shade, I love the girls).

Thanks for the suggestions! Jinyoung caught my attention so far in the videos @nikkysan posted. Jackson's fine, but he gives me a bit of a "I'm hot and I know it, but I'll pretend I don't" kinda meathead vibe dddd maybe I'll lose that impression when I view more content.

I totally get your impressions on Jackson but I think it's just his "popstar" bravado. I think he can be incredibly charming the more you watch the variety shows and some of his interviews. Sometimes you can see his more serious side when he's with Jinyoung. Jinyoung has also mentioned in interviews how Jackson is a bit deeper than the goofy jock he portays to people. They have the most wonderful friendship.

I guess my impression of him was already a bit sullied by the CCP affiliation, given he was Hong Kong born. Before I was even into K-Pop, I heard of that controversy here in Asia. But yeah, it's a very sensitive issue and that's a can of worms I'd rather not open here ddd

I'll check out more of the videos you mentioned with an open mind, though. I can tell Jinyoung will be my initial bias. How would you rank them in terms of dancing, singing, songwriting talent?

JINYOUNG: Is pretty much an all rounder great at singing (beautiful distinct tone), excellent songwriter (great at nostalgic, melancholic musings). Good dancer but he's lower on the scale compared to others. I would say that's his only weakness.

JACKSON: equally good as a rapper and singer. His solo work shows how good he is as a singer and it's trickling down to his GOT7 work. Were they are pushing him to sing more. EXCELLENT dancer especially in the hip hop style. Decent songwriter. I think 100 Ways is the best he's done (that I've heard).

JB: Excellent songwriter and singer. He's very versatile. I would LOVE to get a solo album from him someday. His sub unit collabo with Yugyeom (JUS2) is especially good! He's also an excellent dancer always putting in 110 percent in his stages.

BamBam: Excellent rapper and dancer. His standout writing credit would be PARTY I guess. I don't think he specializes in any particular type of dance but he's seems to pick up choreography quick and looks good doing it. He's also a decent singer too which makes him ideal in the rap/sung role, similar to Jackson. Like Jackson he's great at interviews and very charismatic.

YUGYEOM: He's pretty much known as THE DANCER of the group. He's great at it and the members are still in awe at what he can do. He's also a really good singer and like Jinyoung is usually featured just as much as the main vocalists JB and Youngjae. He totally has that nasal pop tone and I can see why he's pushed more to sing.

MARK: Pretty much the main rapper, he's a good dancer too but he's on the lower scale as well. He's actually a decent singer and surprisingly has the most range? I'm surprised when he sings really high when he's known for his deep singing voice.

YOUNGJAE: KING of Vocals. I think it's the only thing he really cares about and I don't blame him. He's good at it and adds the vocal prowess the group needs. He does have some bad singing habits that can hurt him live but it's minor. He's a also a good writer and composes the songs he writes. He's also one of the weaker dancers but being a "weak" dancer in GOT7 is like saying you missed a hand flick on a certain move. Hahaha.

One thing to know about Jackson? He knows how to hustle. He's on a magazine cover every other month. I love his spread in Harpers Bazaar this month.

I have to say their vocals complement so well in these unplugged sessions! I was just watching this and it's so relaxing. They're serving such great looks, too. Thank You in particular has some beautiful melodies and I read that Jinyoung wrote this.

Seriously anything written by Jinyoung is a gem. Plus he usually makes all the rappers sing or have more featured parts.

In a recent Instagram Live Yugyeom mentioned WAVE by Jinyoung is one of his favorite tracks on the new album. We are in for treat!
