Grey's Anatomy Universe

I'm not really thinking that much about the new season, but I will say that Sandra Oh absolutely rocked that bathtub scene to hell and back and it's a shame the Emmys seem to be blind to anything that's either older than five years or not on cable, because she should be taking all the awards for that scene alone.

Sandra Oh remains one of the best actresses on television. Time and time again she has proven her talent, but like you said, she will probably never get recognized for it.

The last episode was actually pretty good. I love those two characters together and actually it's better when there are only two stories told in one episode instead of 6...

I think the past couple of episodes have been really good, it's nice to have a centric episode like that to really get to grips with certain characters' issues but I don't think it was any more or less effective than how they usually do it when it comes to general storytelling.

Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo have mentioned that they think Cristina and Meredith's relationship is a bit unrealistic in the sense that they consider each other their 'Person'. I think there's a bit of a disagreement between them and Shonda Rhimes since she believes it's possible to have someone as your Number One Person who isn't your partner. I can't decide who's right. That attitude seems a bit unhealthy to me but at the same time, there's something really sweet about it.

I agree with Shonda. I love my boyfriend (of 5+ years) very much but my best friend is my "Person." I don't see it as being a Number One In Your Life thing, more of a the "Person" you run to when you're upset/heartbroken etc, just someone who "gets" you and I think many friendships (particularly female ones) have that with their closest friend.

I'm enjoying this season more than the previous one. I guess it's the same case than seasons 6 and 7: the year they introduce new interns it feels forced and the storylines are boring because I don't care about the new characters...but by the next year they have all gelled with each other and you can see there's more chemistry.

The show is way beyond the point where I felt the need of watching the new episodes the same day they become available, but it's still entertaining.

Whole "conflict" between Cristina and Meredith seems forced and quite ridiculous, like after all they went through now they're falling apart over Cristina stating the truth about Meredith not being great surgeon. It'd be the case if Meredith had some great pride in her craft but until now she never showed it. Feels just unnatural and it's like Shonda Rimes just try to make her "taking the show from the fans" point. I hope she won't "kill" Cristina so there'll be storyline for Meredith in season 11th.

I don't think the conflict at the heart of the story is forced. Meredith's mum was a great surgeon but a terrible mother, Meredith understandably wants to demonstrate that it's possible to be great at both, so when Cristina essentially told her she'd already failed, it obviously hurt her. I think they've gone a bit too far with all this petty squabbling over the printer, though. I'm guessing by the end of the season, they'll have made up but realised they both have different goals now, so Cristina should go off and accomplish hers. There's literally no reason for a doctor as talented as her to remain in Seattle.

I think the conflict between Meredith and Yang is great, it adds more to their relationship and Ross was fairly instrumental in pushing them apart. Without his outburst I doubt they would properly have fallen out to the point where they weren't speaking.

I just hope this fallout between them doesn't last for too long. I don't want them spending the last year of Christina on the show fighting.

What an episode - I wonder how April is going to answer..

Edit: What? We have to wait till the end of February to get the next episode?

Yes, ABC announced in August that most of its established shows' seasons would be split into two uninterrupted blocks rather than having random hiatuses throughout the year.

The April/Jackson thing was so predictable. I'm glad the Meredith/Cristina thing came to a head. I was hoping Derek's phonecall from the president was going to be a Scandal crossover. Disappointing.

I guess it would complicate things since Meredith's mum is the Vice President and her dad is Chief of Staff, but a Fitz cameo would be perfect.

I'm a few episodes behind but yawn I am so over Bailey having some kind of weird emotional breakdown every 5 or 6 episodes.

I'm usually very patient with the characters, but damn, Ross is the most annoying thing I've seen in the whole Grey's decade. Seriously, take him off the show no matter how, have no mercy with him.

I like what Jackson did, but it should've happened at the end of season 9 or even earlier. They've been stretching that storyline to exhaustion. And is it just me or April's fiancée looked really ugly in this episode? Maybe the actor has lost weight?

But I don't want to give a negative impression. I liked the episode and I can't wait until February.

Yes. It's like they have focused so much on giving her more dramatic storylines that they've forgotten to show her normal behaviour anymore.

Bailey staring Leah down when she had that outburst in the latest episode was Classic Bailey. I'm surprised she's not more pissed off at her husband, though, she should've told him to get his ass back to his training hospital and finish what he started.
