Finally caught up with the outtakes which surfaced and they are so good for the most part. "Boom" and "Information" are so catchy and totally slap, wild how neither made it on the first two albums. "Don't Wait too Long" feels like a superior version of "Running", so adorable and melancholic. "Fine By You" is gorgeous, it has that signature vulnerability which Linda tends to pull out from artists, might be my favourite song out of them all actually. Hearing the original "Sparkle" felt weird because I'm so used to the No Doubt version, it's my fave "Push and Shove" song so of course I love them both.
Honestly "Candyland" was disappointing, mostly because it's missing that sample from the fashion show version which totally made the song for me. Without the trumpet, it just sounds... empty. "Carousel" is cute and has an interesting structure (I like that middle section) but very much gives album outtake vibes, they made a good decision to leave that one out, even though I'm curious as to how it was reconsidered for the scrapped third album.
