Gwen Stefani - “True Babe” + 5th Album

I’m still holding out for Start A War to at least leak, that belt into the last chorus… I can hear god
At this point I'm not sure if actually exists in studio form. For all the other songs we got over the years, we had snippets or at the very least knew they were circulating (or still are, like the Marshmello collab, I'm So Sick). I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if she never actually recorded Start A War and only ever performed it that one time eight (!) years ago.

You might be right you know, makes me so sad - AI needs to hurry up and start making studio versions from live rips honestly!

I rolled my eyes about five time reading that article. This part had my irises glued to the inside of my skull for a minute:

When the show offered her a coach chair alongside John Legend, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire, Stefani felt uncertain.

"I was really weirded out like, 'What's it going to be like without Blake?'

It's like her whole identity now revolves around this man. It's getting weird Gwyneth!

Honestly, she’s been ahead of her time in being a trad-wife influencer.

No, I kid, I actually think the intersection of her faith, romance, and creativity is very interesting, and there’s a wealth of material to be mined if she were so inclined.

The Voice USA gave us so much...

I kind of hate True Babe dddd. It never grew on me. So I'm sort of on the fence about anticipating a new album (that has been "coming" for 3 years...).

On the topic of Gwen's identity revolving around her men, I will give people a little slack for once here cuz I was thinking about it and realized if you really only started checking for Gwen during LAMB and The Sweet Escape, I can see how that element of her persona might have slipped by you. Gwen was all Gavin during Return of Saturn, but by the time we get to the solo debut they'd been married a few years, she'd found out about the love child, he'd fucked her around a lot at that point.... and as a result, I think she felt more like her own person. And Tragic Kingdom aside (which is an aesthetic she still revisits for nostalgia) I think that is the image of her people probably most have in mind too - the red lips, the Galiano gowns. The old Hollywood glam with a tiny bit of edge. That's not really her anymore.

I'll also say as much as I'm not a Blake fan, I'm willing to overlook some of the constant gushing because I think Gavin kept her in a state of insecurity for a long time.

It's frustrating everytime she seemingly gets it with a single and then goes and changes the direction. First time was Baby Don't Lie, then it happened again with Let Me Reintroduce Myself.
