Talent won, Bob Dylan is over!
Seriously though: what an album, what a band, and what an achievement.
Even though I loved this album on first listen, it's the small moments and lyrics that get caught in my head that keep me coming back -- the cheeky "nope" in Los Angeles, "We're watching the sunrise from the kitchen counter" in Gasoline, "Wrapped up in your old fleece / I put it on when I can't sleep" in Another Try. It's just all so exquisite. It's going to be a strong contender for my album of the year for sure.
Taste! I posted the same trifecta in the Random Thoughts thread.
It wasn’t even close in the end, we love to see it
1 HAIM 17,762
2 Bob Dylan 13,625
3 Jessie Ware 7,667
4 Lewis Capaldi 6,477 (951,011)
5 Harry Styles 5,432
Bob Dylan found literally rotting.
I almost made a ‘Bob Dylan found dead’ joke but I wasn’t sure whether or not this was a posthumous release and decided to play it safe.
Does anyone pronounce 'wimpiii' as
This is how they've been pronouncing it from the beginning haha.
This album is wow x 1000. I just love that they let their diverse influences shine on this album but make it all sound so cohesive. Cohesive is literally Velvet Rope in 2020 and co-exists on the same album as the Steps and Summer Girl.
Yep! Fleetwood Mac and Janet Jackson influences = my dream. Thats why this album is so amazing.
Why does I Know Alone keep growing on me when it was already a 9/10?
Because it’s actually an 11/10.
AND EVERYDAY I WAKEUP AND I MAKE MONEY FOR MYSELF
AND THOUGH WE SHARE A BED YOU KNOW THAT I DONT NEED YOUR HELP
DO YOU UNDERSTAND???
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ME. BABY
I’m listening to my WIMPIII vinyl for the first time and it sounds so fucking good. An iconic number 1 album.
Favourite moment! I love to screech along as I stomp down the street.
Reminding you guys of this HAIM parody on SNL which I LOVED bc I didn't think they were big enough to be spoofed (even though this isn't like directly explicitly saying it's HAIM but...it's obvious)
The cadence and everything of the lyrics is SPOT on.
One of Nicki’s best verses to be honest
I think I've just about settled on a top 5 (excluding the ""bonus tracks""");
Los Angeles, I Know Alone, Up From A Dream, Another Try and FUBT. The whole album though is a complete wonder.
Separate names with a comma.
