Halsey - "Ego" + The Great Impersonator (Oct 25)

The standard and Y2K covers are my favorites, but they went with such pretty colors for both the 90s and Y2K variants. She's really testing the promise I made to myself to be more selective with my vinyl purchasing habits.

The album title on the side of the covers is giving me Brat flashbacks, and now I'm scared I'm gonna have to cut it open...

I’m torn between the Y2K and the Target/HMV - the extra cost for the different decades is hard to justify, I’m ok without using the reflective insert to put my head there!

I do wish that each decade had gone a bit more all out with the cover, we know there’s a full photoshoot for Y2K so completely different covers would have been fun but I do understand this ties them all together.

The art direction is absolutely wretched across the board. All the variants are awful, Halsey looks so... bored. Who would want these displayed in their collection? Chop.

Excited about the album and love the main cover. I think she is, as an artist, doing exactly what she wants and there's no one holding any of these ideas back. And that's why it feels like a lot and easter eggs feel a little more intense than warranted.

There are a lot of artists where the digging is minimal when it comes to concept. I think everyone on this forum knows what it's like to dive deep and wrap your head around a full artist/campaign, and with her this time around it does require more digging. What she did with Lucky was fun, all of it is, but I will say the entire "concept" isn't very accessible at first glance.

Really? I think it’s fairly accessible on a very basic level. “Halsey becomes famous but in different decades” isn’t something you need to get your head around, is it?

Of course it gets more convoluted the more you engage in it or read, but if we’re talking first glance, then it’s not complicated at all.

Does anyone have a link to the Spotify vinyl. Just standard black with signed artcard? Or maybe it is US only
