Managed to finally get round to watching this and it's as great as everyone said it would be, happy to learn there are more seasons coming! Also nice to see Olivia Colman supporting in something that isn't Very Overly Serious Acting, it's been a while.

Yeah I forgot to mention I finally got around to watching this in the autumn. For sure a cute little show that has a lot of heart. It kinda felt like something made for CBBC but maybe that's just because I'm old and not really the target demo for the show. I'm glad young people have this show to enjoy though, it's always great for young queer people to see themselves on TV. The fandom gives me the ick though, they have this weird parasocial relationship with the cast which I worry will ruin the show as time goes on. But overall, a lovely little show!

A standom acting psychotic?

But yes, it's very icky and worrying.

First is "I hope when it happens in Heartstopper it doesn’t feel like a lesson."
Then it's "People are asking the wrong questions."
I don't wanna teach anything, but you're asking the wrong question.
People should not make interviews.

What is this referring to?

I’m finally on the Heartstopper train. The books are wonderful, and as a former rugby twink it’s really resonating. It really captures the awkwardness of figuring out who you are, and the timidity of exploring a crush.

But the show… the acting is terrible, except for Elle. It’s cute and the tone is nice, but I am cringing at everyone’s am-dram RP.

I feel most acting is fine but there's bits and lines ("Why are we like this?" "We're boyfriends!!!" "I love Charly Spring in a romantic way!1!!") that work better for drawn characters than actual people.

I expect she means she doesn’t want it to feel like it’s a lesson but she does want people to learn something.

Surely an announcement for season 2 can't be far away now?

if it’s similar to last year, a teaser trailer will drop mid March and a premiere on April 28th seems likely.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they push the premiere into May to capitalize on Pride month.

Totally agree!
I was a bit concerned at the bad acting at first but once the story got going I just surrendered to it and it was such a gorgeous show! Can’t wait for season 2!
