Hilary Duff

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

I have never seen an episode of "The Ghost Whisperer" yet.

I am definitely going to be tuning in for Hilary though!

BTW, is that air date for the UK or US? Or both?

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

You should watch it! I love "G.W." It's a nice mix of cozy melodrama and spooky supernatural stuff, plus it has Jennifer Love Hewitt and her boobs! What's not to like?

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

Dear Hilary.

To my surprise Dignity was a really good album.
Why did you have to rape Depeche Mode and make me dislike you all over again?

I've actually gone over this quite a bit. When "Dignity" underperformed in the US, Hollywood Records decided they wanted to rerelease it in November with a few brand new songs. They sought out Ryan Tedder & asked him to work with Hilary. So Hilary went into the studio just before going on tour (at the end of July 2007,) to record "Reach Out," & "Holiday." Following the recording of both songs, Hilary toured & the label decided to push back the rerelease, OVER & OVER again. Until it was finally canned.

That date, (which is tomorrow) is when Hilary shoots the episode. It'll premiere in February in the US, not sure about the UK. :)

OFFICIAL RELEASE:

Duff, Zegers to play Bonnie and Clyde

By Borys Kit

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The saga of Bonnie and Clyde is headed for another film telling, with Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers in negotiations to play the infamous 1930s bank robbers.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were Depression-era lovers and outlaws whose exploits captured the public's imagination. Their story has hit the big screen several times, with 1967's "Bonnie and Clyde," starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, considered a classic.

Tonya S. Holly, who is directing the indie drama "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde," stresses that the new film is not a remake and will showcase periods in the couple's lives not seen onscreen before. Holly first became interested in the story of the fugitive lovers after finding old newspaper articles about their exploits in an abandoned house on her family's property.

Holly recently wrote, produced and directed the family film "When I Find the Ocean," which stars Lee Majors, Diane Ladd and Graham Greene.

Zegers' credits include "The Stone Angel," "The Jane Austen Book Club" and "Transamerica." The actor most recently starred with Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess in "Fifty Dead Men Walking."

Singer/actress Duff's most recent feature role was "War Inc."

Hilary is definitely not playing around this year. In 3 weeks, we've gotten JUST AS MANY press releases regarding Hilary.

First: "Barely Legal" her upcoming show
Second: The Ghost Whisperer Guest Appearance
Now: Bonnie & Clyde

I think it's smart that she's lining up all these acting projects before returning to the music scene.

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

More power to her, I do think there are better guest slots on TV than Ghost Whisperer but still. Is it wrong that I kind of want the best of even though I have all the songs? It looks lovely. I've seen it advertised on TV a few times aswell. Maybe it'll be moderately successful?

I just saw a clip of the Reach Out video on channel 4. It didn't look as cheap as it did on the ol' PC... Lemar wasn't too impressed at the song, but then again he's Lemar so that hardly matters, does it? ;-)

Is it being released in the UK then?!

Not a good move really, but I guess that the label want something to promote the 'Best Of' with. I'm guessing that she's not going to be coming over here to promote it though.

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

I think she'd be too busy to come over even if she wanted to, judging by all the upcoming stuff we know about.

Which is fair enough. So I don't know why the label are bothering with either the single or album.

It's already been released, I think it was last week.

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

It did come out last week and didn't even get in the Top 100 :(

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

I like Hilary. She seems like a nice person.
Dignity was a strong album but overlooked because she's still got that rep for being a "teen star".

Apparently, Jennifer Love Hewitt & Hilary are quite good friends, Jennifer heard that Hilary was looking to come back with a bang in 2009, & she asked Hil if she wanted to be on the show. It averages over 10.2 million an episode every Friday night in the US, making it the top rated show on Friday. I've never seen the show so I can't judge, but it's ratings are spectacular for the night it's on & holds well against other shows throughout the week.

Speaking of GW... Hil's episode has a scheduled release date in the US as of today:

Hilary Duff Brings Mystery to 'Ghost Whisperer'
Pop singer will guest star on the April 10th episode

Hilary Duff is quickly filling up her acting resume.

The pop singer will guest star on an episode of the CBS supernatural drama "Ghost Whisperer" to air on Friday, April 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the network announced Tuesday.

On the show, Duff will play the "beautiful woman of mystery" Morgan Jeffries, who may or may not be involved in the tragic death of a man who fell victim -- literally -- to a freak accident.

Duff signed a talent deal with NBC in November and will star in the upcoming show "Barely Legal," about an 18-year-old who becomes California's youngest attorney. She's also in talks to costar in a big screen retelling of the Bonnie Parker and Clyde Darrow story.

Her previous credits include "Lizzie McGuire" and guest spots on "Joan of Arcadia" and "Frasier," while her movie resume boasts the likes of "A Cinderella Story," "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Material Girls" with her sister Haylie Duff.

Any idea on where you guys are at this season? The US just aired the 13th episode of this season last week. Only 6 more to go!

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

Duff is dead to me. Ever since she released "Reach Out," I wanted to say to her, "Hello?! Only Jamelia can pull off sampling 'Personal Jesus!'" I just knew at that point her music career was dead in the water and that it was the end of an era. Who knows, maybe she'll surprise me, but I doubt it. She a sweet soul though, at least I'll have Lizzie McGuire, oh the memories! :)

You're right about that. She isn't with Hollywood Records, the record label holding her back & killing her music career since her sophomore album.

I can't wait to see what Hilary brings to the table next time around.

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

As much as the continued lack of any kind of real presence/interest in Hilary in the UK annoys me, i do still love her - as others have said, she seems like such a nice person and seems pretty down-to-earth. I watched those video podcasts she did and they fun and she came across well in them.

Dignity was an amazing album, but like Dannii Mingogue, there is an awful prejudice existing which means radio will not touch her and 0 airplay = pretty much 0 success.

I actually really like Reach Out, it is by no means amazing, but i'm a big Depeche Mode fan and i think they use the sample well.

As for if we'll see more music from her in the future - possibly. Well, i certainly hope so anyway.

Re: Hilary Duff - New Album/General Discussion

Hilary's has well and truly hit the big time, forget Avril and Lindsay, her new celebrity arch-rival is the queen...Faye Dunaway!
