Urban's website first delayed it, now it's got the "Hurry! They're almost gone!" label when you go buy it. The lies... the lies...
I really hope this means that Dignity and Breathe In. Breathe Out both will get a comprehensive release.
I think Dignity is a definite at this point. Breathe In. Breathe Out is RCA and not Hollywood Records, so doubt it would be part of the same deal with Urban if we were to ever get it.
Urban has shipped my self-titled vinyl on time, after 2 cancellations and a 'back order' delay. Bring on the rest of her catalog! They did a nice job with the packaging: And the pink is such a great accent with the artwork: They definitely sourced the artwork from UHQ photographer files. @mylpdreams posted it in full on IG stories and the front is STUNNING. https://www.instagram.com/stories/mylpdreams/2839604718475389975/ I tried to listen to most of the album today (at 33), and I remember hammering the shit out of this album when it was released (I was 15), and some of it is definitely cringe/could've been left on the cutting room floor. Especially the middle of the road ballad she doesn't have the vocal range for, namely "Hide Away", "Dangerous to Know", "Who's That Girl", & "Cry". But this is nice to have for the nostalgia. 'Someone's Watching Over Me' still hits me in the feels. I lost my grandmother the year it came out and damnit... one of her best songs.
I love the Dignity shoot so much. She looked incredible with brunette hair and the gold/darker colour palette was perfect. The black & white shoot that they used for the Japan covers/Best Of was stunning too.
I doubt Dignity will get a gatefold. Self titled likely did because it's 17 tracks, requiring 2 LPS, so they chose that route. Which also brings up a question for me - who makes those decisions? UO or the label?
Yeah, i'm in peace that we’ll not get a gatefold for Dignity, cause you know, Hollywoods Records barebones releases. But i hope we at least get a press finaly. The inner inserts i'll do it by myself, cause why not? dd
Really been seven years since I tried to play this after getting my back blown out and my college hook up yanking the aux cord out of my phone.
