Totally understand this, I just meant that it seemed to be going for a horror comedy vibe as it was so over the top.I don't think those are the only reasons why people watch horror. Some use it as a coping mechanism. When my mom was dying, I wanted to watch something truly terrifying, gruesome, and downright disturbing, to make me feel better about my own situation. Humor can be part of the emotional release during a tense/horrific movie, but the main goal of horror is to scare/horrify/disturb, not entertain or stand in for a comedy. People play violent video games for the same reason.
