Horror films

Thank god for that because that's wáy too much for me! But that's because I don't like torture porn, and The Substance is not that at all. Will probably watch it soon then! If it's still in theaters around here...
Oh same torture porn isn't my thing at all.

You think? I'm actually hopeful for what's next as Oddity takes place in the same universe as the director's other film Caveat, so things could be built upon in a future release, maybe.
Yeah, I feel like they had a good foundation, and that opening scene is genuinely creepy but

When it’s revealed her husband hired that hitman and sends him over to kill the sister again, it just falls apart for me. It’s such a boring cop out.

So I showed my mum the trailer for The Substance when it came out (the second, final trailer), and she was so convinced she went to see it with one of her girl friends. They're both not necessarily horror fans so they were very grossed out, they did stay to watch the entire thing which I applaud them for because my mum told me other people were leaving early.

But she also scared me into watching it. Lots of needles, and I have a terrible phobia of needles. Will I be able to enjoy this film if I sort of squint sometimes? Or is it too gross? I'm not necessarily a gore fan but if the film is really good (which I'm sure it is), my tolerance for it goes up a bit.
I'm so curious - did your mom like it? NN

If she did, she's the coolest mom ever - just saying!

I love The Believers. It is a bit stuffy, which is what happens in the 70s/80s horrors with an established actor. It was very scary as a kid, which probably looks a bit silly now.
I really like it as well, I'm a fan of John Schlesinger films.

His 60's and 70's films are great. Pacific Heights from 1990 with Melanie Griffin is camp.

Shame Madonna killed him when they did The Next Best Thing. (joking)

She liked the story, she loved Demi's performance, but she did not love the film overall because it was too gory for her, specifically "too many needles" (her needle phobia is probably 10x worse than mine dd). She's just really not a horror girl so I was already pleasantly surprised she A. even went to see it, B. brought a friend who actively dislikes horror and C. stayed for the whole film when other people were leaving halfway.
