Horror films

The way Naomi Scott looks like Camila Cabello + Emilia Clarke and then herself is kinda iconic. She is three woman in one.

The Substance was wild, I didn't know it was going to be that extreme on the body horror. Such a creative concept, well acted, well directed, 10/10! The last 15 minutes were insane and so over the top in a way I wasn't expecting though nn. But I love that it was a lot of fun and had something to say.

Also, the shots of her walking to the warehouse, that has to be a Black Swan reference right?

Watched the new 4k disc for A Nightmare on Elm Street last night. The picture is amazing and is the best it has ever looked. The Atmos sounded great too. Glad I picked it up and was able to get the version with the original art for the steelbook.

Tonight we are going to check out Smile 2 and Terrifier 3 at the drive-in.

I am saving mine for next week as I have got quite a few classics on 4K lately. Great to hear the picture is great. Got Night Of The Living Dead too and as I was putting with my horrors films, I found the Criterion Blu Ray still in it's cellophane. With streaming being so dominant, my physicals have just become souvenirs.

Let’s just say it was clear this was a film written and directed by a man.

I liked Smile 2 a lot more than the first one and I’m officially a Skye Riley stan but the ending didn’t quite do it for me.

I would have liked Skye to find a way to survive it and by giving us the ending we got I just don’t see how this becomes a longer term franchise… Thousands of teenage girls ‘infected’ just feels like any continuation would either be silly in scale or take some heavy retconning.

I wasn't sure which thread to post this in, but is anyone watching Grotesquerie?
That twist in ep 7 was wild. I'm re watching it from the beginning now and there are so many little hints they dropped in there

It’s been brilliant and unlike most Ryan Murphy shows recently it’s getting better as it goes on! Shocking!

I hated this twist and think Ryan Murphy actively hates the horror genre.

nn at the very different reactions. I'm enjoying it, but it will be interesting where it goes from here.

I do like how the twist kind of explains a lot of the bizarre/uncanny little details....the odd nurse, the reliance on landlines, and obviously the whole church aspect. The easter eggs are fun to spot now that I'm rewatching...the way it opens with her having a dream of hospital curtains catching fire, there's a moment of her at the station disassociating for a second and you hear hospital beeping, etc.
